Abby Lee Miller has never been one to hold back—especially when it comes to defending her students. And when Maddie Ziegler, her former star pupil, was offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Abby made it clear that nothing would stand in the way.

In an exclusive conversation with E! News’ Francesca Amiker, the Dance Moms alum revealed just how far she was willing to go to support Maddie’s career.

“I quit my job many times,” Abby admitted. “The first time I quit and said, ‘Get your stuff, get out of my building,’ was when they didn’t want Maddie to go do the Sia video.”

At just 11 years old, Maddie was selected to star in Sia’s Chandelier music video—a project that would later become a defining moment in her career. However, according to Abby, the show’s producers weren’t on board.

Examples of their careers include dance instruction, Broadway, podcast co-hosting, social media influencing, and podcast hosting.

Dance Moms first premiered in 2011, and followed the lives of young dancers and their mothers while they competed and trained with coach Abby Lee Miller. The Dance Moms squad is getting back together. Lifetime announced that some of the fan-favorite dancers and moms from the show will be reuniting “to talk about the good, bad and everything else in between” for a Dances Moms Reunion television special. Produced by Six West Media, it’s set to air in 2024 on Lifetime.

The network also shared a photo of Dance Moms alums Chloe Lukasiak, Paige Hyland, Brooke Hyland, JoJo Siwa, Kendall Vertes, and Kalani Hilliker (see above).

Gen Z studio Brat TV has announced that the seventh season of “Chicken Girls” will release on Sept. 1, featuring brand new cast members.

The updated cast will be led by 11-year-old Hayley LeBlanc, who is following in the footsteps of her older sister Annie, the previous star of the series. Also joining the cast is Kheris Rogers; an actress and singer, Enzo Lopez; the younger brother of TikTok phenomenon Addison Rae; “Dance Moms” alum Elliana Walmsley and dancer and actor Aiden Prince.

Txunamy Ortiz, Coco Quinn, Corinne Joy, Liam-Alexander Newman, Skyler Aboujaoude and Matteo Gallegos round out the new additions. Original cast members Annie LeBlanc and Hayden Summerall will appear occasionally throughout the new season.

“Coming off our best quarter yet, we couldn’t be more excited to introduce a new generation of Chicken Girls – which, for millions of Gen Z viewers, has become a household name,” Brat TV co-founder Rob Fishman said.

And by that, we mean they get to pick a song that the show can clear. Naturally, Mackenzie Ziegler chose one of her own tunes. As for everyone else, well, don’t be expecting many classic songs here.

The remaining seven couples will perform a Charleston, jazz, cha cha or samba, and one couple will be eliminated at the end of the show.

ABC can’t let any fall iteration of “Dancing with the Stars” go by without a Halloween-themed week, even if that means filming it months in advance. Yup, it’s Halloween Night on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” next week, so the final eight contestants will treat us to their newest dance tricks.

In addition, the episode, which was filmed over the summer, will open with a group number featuring all eight couples and choreographed by judge Mandy Moore. One team will be eliminated at the end of the hour.

It would be an ironic twist of fate, but it looks like Disney Channel star Jason Maybaum may be eliminated next from “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” — on Disney Night. That’s according to the combined predictions of Gold Derby users who have entered their picks in our predictions center for this week’s show.

Maybaum gets leading odds of 7/2 to be sent home from the competition. He’s best known for playing Levi Grayson in the Disney series “Raven’s Home,” but he hasn’t been known for high-scoring dances on “DWTS” just yet. In the series premiere episode he got the third lowest score of the night from the judges (18 out of 30) for his cha cha with pro partner Elliana Walmsley. He significantly improved in week two, scoring 21 for his jive, but that still placed him third from the bottom.

It’s Synergy Week on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” aka Disney Week. The remaining nine kiddies will perform to tunes from some Disney classics, many of which were released before their lifetimes. As if Songs From the Year I Was Born Week didn’t already make us feel old. But at least no one is doing “Let It Go.”

You know how everyone makes fun of the younger “Dancing with the Stars” contestants for picking a year in, like, the last seven years — including the current year — for Most Memorable Year because they haven’t lived yet? Well, neither have the kiddies on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.”

Oh, don’t worry, they’re not doing Most Memorable Year there, which would’ve been Lol, but they are doing Songs From the Year I Was Born in Week 2. So that’s just music from this century. Not just that, but the remaining 10 contestants range from 9 years old (Spelling Bee champ Akash Vukoti) to 14 years old (Mackenzie Ziegler), so we’re getting tunes from a five-year span from 2004 to 2009. Some of these kids weren’t even alive for their rivals’ songs! We are old; they are not. Sigh.

“Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” kicks off its run on ABC on Sunday, October 7 with a two-hour premiere beginning at 8 p.m. in the east and west and 7 p.m. in the central and mountain time zones. This special version of “DWTS” will run for a full 10 weeks just like the main show. However, the rest of the episodes will only be an hour long and all of them will be pre-taped.

ABC unveiled the cast of celebrity kids and professional junior ballroom dancers that will put on their dancing shoes for the upcoming season Dancing With the Stars: Juniors. Abby Lee Miller received a very special hospital visit this week from a few of her dance students. The Dance Moms star posted a picture of her smiling with Elliana Walmsley and Maesi Caes—both of whom appeared on the show—on Tuesday. "I guess it doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing," Miller wrote. "The kids always migrate right toward me! I guess I'm more fun than their moms! Lol!" Caes even shared her own special tribute.
