Daniel Bucknell

Daniel Bucknell was born on the 6th of July in 1992 in Melbourne, Australia to (kindergarten teacher) Anne Jones, and (computer programmer) Gavin Bucknell.
From an early age, Daniel found an interest in creative writing, first constructing songs and later short stories and moving eventually onto film as an adult. His mother and fathers interest in music and film alike both assisted in Daniels initial inspiration that pushed him to think creatively as a child and it only grew from there.
At age 11, Daniel learned to play guitar and bass with an existing first love for the drums and by 16 was recording his own songs on all instruments including vocals. At 17, he started working as. DJ and live sound engineer in the events industry and by 20 years old, Daniel had already released his own full length album for his solo musical project 'Moments before Collision'. He had begun to write several short stories until he began work on his first science fiction novel. That novel became the first of a series that encompassed many short stories inside the main series plots. It became his goal to make something of the universe he had created.
At age 22, Daniel and his partner of the time, Meaghan (19) had their first child, Blake Peter Halley Bucknell and Daniel became a family man as well as an aspiring creative. Not long after, Meaghan had fallen pregnant with their second child, Harley Fenn Geoffrey Bucknell. This inspired a new reason to succeed and unlimited inspiration for his work - to show his kids that like him, they could achieve anything if they wanted to!
At age 23, he had released 4 albums of original material and multiple singles as well but he found that storytelling through song was not the best way to get his ideas across. Although he found himself drawn to film, Daniel knew little about the industry or how to go about making a movie so he began to work with others at similar levels to make short films and learn the process. After 2 years of writing and learning in 2017, Daniel had a go at directing his short film "Fabian Sing" that he had spent months preparing before. While it never reached completion, it taught him a lot about how to go about making films until he decided to take on other independent film projects by working in the post production world.
When his first marriage ended on good terms, Daniel poured his energy into his children and into the films he was working on. A lot of things changed in the year of 2022 both personally and professionally but he persevered.
By this stage, it had become very clear what role he was destined for as he returned to his love of sound and professional audio in the form of a new recording studio business. In 3 short years, he had been able to quit his day job and make a sustained living out of mixing other people films and continues to this day. As a re-recording engineer, sound editor, live engineer and DJ, Daniels work spreads to many areas of the entertainment industry. He has been happy doing what he loves and maintains a strong relationship with his children and partner, Tayla.
