Presenting itself as a “lost scene” from David Gordon Green’s Halloween (2018), the 13-minute short Happy Halloween: A Halloween Kills Fan Film was unleashed back in October 2020, you may recall, the short fan film written & directed by Courtlan Gordon and Jimmy Champane.
The killing continues in Happy Halloween Part II: A Halloween Ends Fan Film, Gordon and Champane’s 4-minute sequel to the 2020 fan film that’s now streaming on YouTube.
The team explains, “In this lost scene set between Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends, a group of teenagers spend Halloween night in a seemingly abandoned house.
“Unbeknownst to them, The Shape is waiting.”
The not-for-profit fan project was funded exclusively by Jimmy Champane and Courtlan Gordon, made with no budget but managing to once again impressively capture the vibe of the David Gordon Green sequel trilogy. Much like the 2020 short, the gore effects in this one are incredibly well done,...

Friday the 13th remains in legal limbo as the appeals process rumbles on with no apparent end in sight. The years-long battle between Victor Miller and Sean Cunningham means it’s now over a decade since we saw a new movie in the iconic horror franchise, but fortunately, some extremely talented fans have stepped up to the plate to deliver a series of incredible movies that bring Jason Voorhees back to life.
At the front of the pack is Womp Stomp Films, who released the impressive Never Hike Alone in 2017, a cool-as-hell 54-minute fan effort that saw series star Thom Matthews return to the role of Tommy Jarvis. Now, the sequel to it has just landed in the form of Never Hike in the Snow. It’s available for free, is 30 minutes long and well worth checking out.

As the Friday the 13th legal saga shows no signs of concluding, fans could be forgiven for losing hope. In September 2018, a judge ruled that the rights to the original film’s screenplay and all concepts within it belong to Victor Miller. Sean Cunningham and Horror Inc. appealed, arguing that the court’s ruling would not just negatively impact them, but could potentially have extremely damaging ramifications for the entire industry. Right now, the case appears to be in purgatory as the Covid-19 pandemic seems to have delayed the judge’s verdict, and so we wait.
This is very annoying for gorehounds who simply want to see Jason Voorhees slicing and dicing his way through a load of young actors in sadistic and creative ways. Fortunately, though, fans have stepped in to fill the gap, most impressively in 2017 when Womp Stomp Films released Never Hike Alone, a cool-as-hell 54-minute fan...

A trailer has been released by Womp Stomp Films for this fall's Never Hike in the Snow, the prequel to the popular Friday the 13th fan film Never Hike Alone. Originally released in 2017, Never Hike Alone was written and directed by filmmaker Vincente Disanti. It starred Andrew Leighty as a lone hiker who winds up coming face to face with Jason Voorhees while exploring the abandoned campgrounds of Crystal Lake. It has since gotten over 1.6 million views since first going online, and follow-up projects had also been announced by Disanti.
Now, we have a look at the first trailer for Never Hike in the Snow, which is set three months before the events of Never Hike Alone. This time, the story will follow the strange disappearance of Crystal Lake resident Mark Hill (Courtlan Gordon), who "went for a hike in the dead of winter and never came home." The local law,...

Never Hike in the Snow: A Friday the 13th Fan Film, the winter-set follow-up to the popular Friday the 13th fan film Never Hike Alone, has wrapped principal photography. Post production for the new fan film is now under way, and an official release date is expected to be announced soon by the production company Womp Stomp Films. Because no "official" Friday the 13th movie will be hitting theaters anytime soon with the rights still tied up in a legal battle, these kinds of fan films are helping to fill the void in the meantime and have proven to be very popular with Jason Voorhees fans.
Big Friday the 13th fans can also expect to see some familiar faces in Never Hike in the Snow. Those who've seen Never Hike Alone will know franchise star Thom Mathews reprised his Jason Lives role as Tommy Jarvis in the first fan film,...
