Mauro Castillo is a globally recognized Colombian artist, known for lending his voice to "Félix" in Disney's Oscar®, BAFTA, and Golden Globe-winning animated film Encanto. The film's hit song, "We Don't Talk About Bruno," in which he performs, topped the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive weeks and earned a Grammy® Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
In 2024, Mauro made history by becoming the first Afro-Latino artist invited to both speak as a panelist and perform at the White House during Black History Month, highlighting the profound contributions of Afro-Latinos to the fabric of U.S. society.
He was recently honored with the Order of Knights in the Arts by the Congress of Colombia, recognizing his cultural impact and commitment to the arts. A graduate in Music with an emphasis in Lyrical Singing from "Universidad del Valle", Mauro is a former member of the Grammy-winning salsa group Grupo Niche. As a music producer and composer, he has collaborated with legends such as Oscar D'León and Joe Arroyo, and contributed to high-profile music projects, including Colombia's edition of The X Factor.
Mauro is currently an ambassador for the Lang Lang International Music Foundation and a frequent speaker at global forums such as the 27th Annual CAF Conference and Princeton University's LATAM Conference.
