First images for Surface season 2 have revealed new details about Apple TV+'s psychological thriller, including when new episodes get released. Season 1 of the mystery series followed Gugu Mbatha-Raw's Sophie Ellis, a young woman trying to piece together her missing memories after a mysterious injury.

Now, Deadline has released new images from Surface season 2, teasing what's next for the Apple TV+ psychological thriller series. This includes Sophie alongside new images of other characters from the series, including what appears to be James (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) sporting a new look, Eliza (Millie Brady), and a new character, Grace (Freida Pinto). Alongside these images, it was announced the show will come back for eight episodes starting Friday, February 21, 2025, releasing new episodes weekly until April 11. Check out the new images below:

Hacks, Fellow Travelers and Ava DuVernay’s feature film Origin were among the recipients of the 2024 Humanitas Prizes for television and film writers whose work “explores the human condition in a nuanced way.”

This year’s honors were announced and presented at the organization’s annual awards ceremony last night at the Avalon Hollywood. The event was emceed by June Diane Raphael and Paul Scheer.

In all, 56 writers were nominated for their work across nine film and TV categories. During this year’s event, each winner received their trophy and delivered remarks to an audience of industry professionals. Winners also receive a $10,000 cash prize.

The Producers Guild of America Awards awarded Chloé Zhao’s “Nomadland” with their top prize, one of the key indicators for the Academy Awards, particularly the best picture category. Edging out its closest competitors including Emerald Fennell’s “Promising Young Woman,” Lee Isaac Chung’s “Minari” and Aaron Sorkin’s “The Trial of the Chicago 7,” this might just end any questions about whether or not the moving drama is running away with the Oscars’ big prize.

All the acceptance speeches were pre-recorded with “Nomadland” giving a more produced, glitzier presentation than what we’ve seen at other award shows.

“Nomadland” look home the top film prize at the 2021 Producers Guild Awards Wednesday, bringing it closer to a Best Picture win. The winner of the PGA Awards’ top prize has historically been a strong indicator of which film will will go on to win the Best Picture Oscar. Since 1989, the PGA winner has matched up with the top Oscar 21 out of 31 times. It happened in 2018 with “Green Book,” but not last year: “1917” won at the 2020 PGAs, but the Academy Award for Best Picture went to “Parasite.”

This year, 10 movies competed for the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures (see the full list of nominees and winners below). “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” and “Promising Young Woman” were named the best adapted original screenplays of 2021 at the Writers Guild Awards, which took place in a virtual ceremony on Sunday.

While “Promising Young Woman” went into the show with a slight edge over “The Trial of the Chicago 7’ for the original-screenplay award,”Borat” was a decided dark horse in the adapted-screenplay category, whose nominees also included “One Night in Miami,” “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” “News of the World’ and “The White Tiger.”

Writers Guild winners in the screenplay categories go on to win Oscars almost two-thirds of the time, although the two awards sometimes differ because the WGA is an award strictly for screenplays for movies that were made under the terms of the guild’s Minimum Basic Agreement, or similar agreements from a number of international guilds.

Every year a slew of Oscar-nominated scripts are deemed ineligible for consideration here due to guild guidelines. Indeed, over the past 12 years only 80 of the Writers Guild of America Awards nominees have numbered among the 120 screenplays that reaped Academy Awards bids. Our odds predict that “Nomadland” will win Best Adapted Screenplay winner at the Oscars but it was not allowed to compete at the WGA Awards. Neither was another Oscar contender in that category: “The Father.” The guild did match the academy three-for-five in this category, with “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” “One Night in Miami” and “The White Tiger” competing at both. “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and “News of the World” round out the guild nominees.

Indie studios and streamers dominated the nominations for the 32nd annual Producers Guild of Awards, which were announced on Monday by the Producers Guild of America.

Netflix and Amazon each landed three films on the list of 10, with Netflix’s “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” “Mank” and “The Trial of the Chicago 7” making the list along with Amazon’ “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” “One Night in Miami” and “Sound of Metal.”

The nominees also included A24’s “Minari,” Searchlight’s “Nomadland,” Focus Features’ “Promising Young Woman” and the sole film from a major studio, Warner Bros.’ “Judas and the Black Messiah.”

“Judas and the Black Messiah” is the first film with an all-Black producing team ever nominated for the Producers Guild Award.

After getting just one bid from the Golden Globes earlier in the day, AMC’s “Better Call Saul” rebounded to top all shows with five nominations including for Drama Series along with Amazon Studios’ “The Boys,” Disney +’s “The Mandalorian” and Netflix’s “The Crown” and “Ozark.”

Hulu lands two shows in contention for Comedy Series with “The Great” and “PEN15,” making the streaming service the only company to score multiple nominees in the category. They are joined by HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso” and FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows.”

AMC’s Better Call Saul topped all shows with five nominations including for Drama Series, joining a list that includes Amazon Studios’ The Boys, Netflix’s The Crown (which led the way on the TV side at the Golden Globe nominations earlier today) and Ozark and Disney+’s The Mandalorian.

Madrid — Driving ever more into originals in Latin America, Netflix has placed an order for “Puerta 7,” the U.S. platform’s third Argentine original series, which is created by “Ozark” and “Narcos” writer Martin Zimmerman and produced by leading Argentine production house Pol-ka.

“Puerta 7” is written by Patricio Vega, whose credits include crime-fighting commando thriller “Los Simuladores,” created by “Wild Tales’” Damián Szifrón, which broke out to large international success.

The series is described by Neflix as an “unflinching exploration of Argentina’s infamous (and world famous) soccer “barra bravas,” bare torso-ed soccer fans feared by the public and even police responsible for fatalities at soccer matches.

One narrative line follows “a woman’s attempt to cut through this male-dominated world and cleanse one club of its corruption and criminal element in order to redeem her family name,” Netflix announced.
