Wella McKay, a versatile working model, actress, singer, and dancer, was born as Louwella Margaret Te McKay on November 05, 1980 in Manila, Philippines as the only daughter to Lydia Mara Te, and Frederick Flores McKay. Her mother is of Filipino, Spanish, and Chinese ancestry while her father is of Filipino, Spanish, and Irish descent. She has one younger brother and two older brothers. During her infancy and childhood years she grew up in the remote Philippine island province of Basilan in Southern Mindanao, which is where her father was from. By the time Wella became a teenager, she moved to Davao City, the most populous and urbanized city in Mindanao, where her mother was born and raised. Before turning 21 years old, she was able to migrate to Los Angeles, California in 2001 to join her father who had petitioned her. She got married in 2007 to Alvin Ocampo Calinisan and in 2008 relocated to Jacksonville, Florida. They currently have four children named Chloe, Macy, Brady and Rylee.

Ever since Wella was a young energetic toddler, it has always been her passion and desire to use her God given talents to entertain people in different ways as she loved singing, dancing, acting, and joining beauty pageants. Even till today, she is maximizing every way possible to hone her craft and continue living out her dreams as she currently does sideline work for various clients as a commercial model and product endorser. She sings at social gatherings and major events and is one of the lead vocalists of the worship band at her church. She also actively participates in individual and group dance performances all over Jacksonville.

As an actress she played Maria in a short film called "Leaving Behind" (2017). Professor Linda for a feature film "SoulHood" (2017). Daniella Veracuse and Agent Hannah Webb for a TV Pilot series entitled "Replica" (2017).
