Image
Shivarajkumar’s 45 Kannada Film (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Shiva Rajkumar’s 45, helmed by director Arjun Janya, wrapped up filming before the actor headed to the Miami Cancer Institute in the USA for surgery. The plan was to release 45 after Bhairathi Ranagal (2024), the prequel to his 2017 blockbuster Mufti. While Bhairathi Ranagal hit theaters on November 15, 2024, 45 is still awaiting its big-screen debut.

When is 45 releasing?

Well, the wait is almost over. 45 is set to hit theaters on August 15, 2025, in just seven months. The film is currently in post-production, with the delay attributed to extensive VFX work.

Marz (Monsters Aliens Robots Zombies) is a Canadian VFX studio handling the visual effects. The studio is expected to wrap up its work by May, giving the filmmakers enough time to review the output and request any necessary corrections.

South Indian cinema has been hitting us with some serious gems lately, but this one? It’s the shining star you won’t want to miss. Let’s dive into why this movie should absolutely be on your radar.

The Perfect Blend of Mythology and Modern Drama

First off, let’s talk about the name. Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana—doesn’t that title just scream epic? Hari at an event for Singam 3 (2017)
Film Review: Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana (2021) by Raj B. Shetty
Hari at an event for Singam 3 (2017)
Bringing the divine Hindu Trinity of Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma into an organized crime setting in Mangalore, “Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana” is essentially the story of two brotherly friends who were polar opposites and the chaos they brought into the area.

Where to watch

The movie begins by presenting one of the two, Hari who was born and raised in Mangaladevi, with his impact in the local society being quite evident from his interactions with the police and the reactions of the people around him. The story then turns to Shiva, through an extensive flashback that shows how he was discovered as a kid in a bag, injured, half-dead, and in evident shock. After begging in the streets for some time, he was taken in by Hari’s mother, and the two grew up as brothers. However, it soon became evident that Shiva was an ultraviolent sociopath, something that fully manifested during their youth days,...

Turbo Movie Review: Electrifying Action, Hollywood References & Mixed Performances

Turbo Movie Review Rating:

Star Cast: Mammootty, Raj B. Shetty, Sunil, Anjana Jayaprakash, Shabareesh Varma, Bindu Panikkar, Dileesh Pothan

Director: Vysakh

Turbo Movie Review Out ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

What’s Good: The fight choreography and visuals, especially with Mammootty, are genuinely electrifying. Mammootty‘s precision and stylish delivery of knockout punches make every fight sequence a thrilling spectacle! The Hollywood pop culture references, like Turbo Jose’s mother mourning Tony Stark’s death or a local don channeling Vito Corleone with a similar mustache, clothing, and demeanor, add fun and nostalgia to the movie.

What’s Bad: The movie had a few plot holes towards the end and lacked iconic music. Although the soundtrack was good and served its purpose, it had no standout tracks that left a lasting impression. In some scenes, a turbo spooling noise and horn sound are used as background sounds for Mammootty’s character before he appears.

Toby review: An incredible Raj B Shetty shoulders a contrived film
Image
ReviewRaj B Shetty plunges headlong into his titular character of Toby, but he also becomes a bit of a control freak while doing so, telling us, the viewer, how to feel about every dramatic moment.Raj B Shetty as TobyWith Toby, it seems evident that Raj B Shetty is yet to get over Shiva, the character he played with great ferocity in Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana. In the 2021 film, which he also wrote and directed, Shiva stood as a model for a kind of muffled angst that Raj had presented a variant of a couple of years prior, in his debuting outing Ondu Motteya Kathe. With Toby, the titular character of his latest outing (which he has only written and not directed) added to the mix, it's very clear that he is making an impassioned case for the anti-hero. It is as though he wants us to stop celebrating male...
