Joining Andia Winslow (who voices protagonist Zula Hendricks) is Robbie Daymond, who will be providing the voice of Davis 01, an AI companion and sentient combat synthetic who partners with Hendricks on her mission to rescue her squad mate.

Acting as a guide by providing exposition and information throughout gameplay, Davis 01 also serves as Zula Hendricks’ conscience as her mission against the Xenomorphs becomes an obsession. “Velma” won’t be returning for a third season at Max.

The streamer has opted not to renew the “Scooby-Doo” series for Season 3. The news comes months after the adult animated series, which starred and was executive produced by Mindy Kaling, debuted its second season in late April.

“Over the past two seasons, Mindy [Kaling] and Charlie [Grandy] have created an incredibly fun and fresh world within the iconic whodunit franchise,” a spokesperson for Max said in a statement. “While we won’t be moving forward with another season of the series, we thank them for their compelling coming-of-age storytelling, unrivaled clues and hilarious hijinks.”

The news also comes less than a week after Max debuted its “Velma” Halloween special, “This Halloween Needs to Be More Special!” The standalone episode aired Thursday, Oct. 3.

In the wake of two seasons and a just-released Halloween special, it appears that Max’s adult animated Scooby-Doo series “Velma” has been cancelled by the Warner Bros. streamer.

Background artist Davey Cummings shares on Instagram this week, “There will not be a Season 3, but I hope I get to work with these amazing talented people again one day.”

Those looking for some gameplay for Survios’ upcoming VR title Alien: Rogue Incursion got their wish at Sdcc with a new trailer. The trailer reveals that players will be stepping into the virtual boots of Zula Hendricks, who will be voiced by Andia Winslow.

Those who keep up with the Alien comics put out by Dark Horse Comics will be familiar with Hendricks, who has made several appearances in the comics, starting back with the 12-issue limited series Aliens: Defiance back in 2017.

As for the trailer itself, we get a good look at the remote mining colony on Lv-354 aka Purdan that’s currently infested with Xenomorphs, which Hendricks has ventured into in order to save her comrade. Luckily, Hendricks seems more than capable of handling a pulse rifle. You’ll also be employing the famous M314 motion tracker, which will no doubt please many fans as you scour the facility.

“Hacks” is back, and Max has revealed the official trailer and key art for the show’s long-awaited Season 3. The new installment of “Hacks,” which Variety chronicled in this recent feature, returns on Thursday, May 2, with two episodes on Max. The nine-episode season will continue with two episodes each week, up until the season finale on May 30.

Here’s this season’s logline: “A year after parting, Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) is riding high off the success of her standup special while Ava (Hannah Einbinder) pursues new opportunities back in Los Angeles.”

As Deadline reported earlier today, both cancellations are believed to stem from the length of the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which have delayed TV production, creating large gaps between seasons and making shows miss their target release dates.

In a story earlier this week, Deadline reported that there may be more series whose renewals could be rescinded or pending pickups not happen if the work stoppage stretches past Labor Day, with freshman series going into Season 2 the most vulnerable. “A League of Their Own” series co-creator Will Graham has big plans for Season 2 (as previously mentioned to TheWrap), and if the show continues to root itself in historical events from the real All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, there is plenty more story to tell.

“We’re already working on the storyboard. We know where the show is going and what the bigger arc of it is,” Graham said in a more recent interview with TheWrap after the release of the Prime Video series’ first season. “People who watch the film, they don’t know that the league lasted until 1954.”

The first season, which contains eight episodes, zooms in further on the true story of the establishment of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, which was captured in Penny Marshall’s 1992 film of the same name, but not in terms of the diversity of the women who flocked to league tryouts.

Prime Video's new "A League of Their Own" series is, as the saying goes, a whole different ball game -- at least when you compare it with the film it's based on. The series takes place in the 1940s and follows the newly assembled members of the groundbreaking Rockford Peaches women's baseball team, but other than that, it bears little resemblance to the 1992 movie by Penny Marshall.

Instead, the latest iteration of the story spotlights a rarely explored slice of real history: the love lives and identities of the LGBT+ teammates, and the experiences of Black athletes -- namely pitcher Max (Chanté Adams) -- who weren't allowed to join the team.

The hourlong series, described as a fresh approach to Marshall’s classic about the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, will follow new characters who embody the spirit of a generation of women who dreamed to play professional baseball. “The show takes a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a whole new ensemble of characters as they carve their own paths towards the field, both in the league and outside of it,” according to the streamer.
