Biography

Antony Varghese is a popular Malayalam TV and film actor who made his debut in the year 2017. He is commonly known by his screen name Pepe. He completed his graduation from Ernakulam's Maharaja's College. Varghese signed his debut movie Angamaly Diaries (2017) as the lead role, playing Vincent Pepe in the film.

The film was directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and was a box office hit, which got several Filmfare Awards South. In 2018, Varghese received the South Filmfare Award for Best Malayalam Male Debut for the same movie. His second movie was Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil (2018), directed by Tinu Pappachan, and Varghese played the role of Jacob in the movie.

In 2018, he also appeared in a short movie, Mouse Trap, in which he played the role of Subash Chandra Bose. In 2019, he appeared in Jallikattu (2019), which was again directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. The film was so successful that it got its official entry, a nomination at the Oscars, in the Best International Feature category at the 93rd Academy Awards.

He again collaborated with director Tinu Pappachan and played the role of Lali in the movie Ajagajantharam (2021). The same year, he became famous because of his travel vlog, Wabi Sabi.

In 2022, Varghese appeared in four movies. He first appeared in Super Sharanya (2022), in which he appeared in a Cameo role, and then in Innale Vare (2022), which was directed by Jis Joy.

Varghese was next seen in Aanaparambile World Cup (2022) and Abhishek K.S. Oh Meri Laila (2022). In 2023, Varghese appeared as Hari along with Geethi Sangeetha in Vineeth Chakyar's Poovan (2023).
