Clayton Davis is the Senior Awards Editor at Variety, the legendary 117-year-old Hollywood industry trade publication.
Davis joined Variety in September 2020 as film awards editor, coming from his self-owned Awards Circuit, the company and website he founded where he served as editor-in-chief.
At Variety, he's covered all things related to Academy Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards and other awards show ceremonies, which includes breaking news and penning various cover stories such as Denzel Washington, Ke Huy Quan, Troy Kotsur, and Spike Lee.
An award-winning journalist, he was selected as one of 2022 and 2023's Imagen's Influential Latinos in Media, as well as the recipient of the Excellence in Entertainment Journalism Award by NALIP, and won a Telly Award for co-programming the inaugural Celebration of Latino Cinema for the Critics Choice Association, where he is a board member. I'm 2023, he was nominated as Online Journalist of the Year by the SOCAL Entertainment Journalists Awards.
