British background player Jack Mandeville was born on August 23, 1921 in Hambledon, Hampshire, England. Mandeville first began appearing in films in uncredited minor roles in the late 1930's. A stocky man with a large face, big ears, and close-cropped hair, Jack was frequently cast as reporters, party guests, passengers on either boats or airplanes, or patrons in cafes, clubs, pubs, or restaurants. Mandeville died at age 73 in May, 1995.
