Martyn Luke is an actor, voice actor, martial artist and writer, born and raised in the Midlands, UK.
Since a young age Martyn has always adored characters especially those in cartoons and video games. His love for voices and accents pushed him towards wanting to become a real-life cartoon! Sadly this wasn't possible so he became an actor instead.
After spending many years in education Martyn has earned a BTEC, a First Diploma and National Diploma in Acting and Performing Arts. He finally becoming an alumnus at DMU and got a Bachelor of Arts in Visuals and Performing.
Being dyslexic, Martyn struggled with reading and writing in his younger years. Acting helped him to overcome various obstacles and he found dyslexia can even be an amazing tool! Though he's yet to thwart his arch nemesis...Neat handwriting.
As an actor Martyn has acted in various media from feature films, series, short films and commercials. Some of Martyn's roles included; cocky drug dealing hoodie Darren in the award-winning crime drama feature film, Hello Darlin' to Loveable vivid dreamer, Mark in the Oodles PEEL & WIN campaign commercials for the FIFA World Cup. Martyn will soon be appearing as The Emporial Inspector in Angel Studios, Dystopian TV series, Testament.
As a voice over artist, Martyn has voiced in commercials, trailers and explainer videos. He has voiced for such companies as QuickBooks, Nintendo, The University of Birmingham and so on.
Martyn specializes in character voice acting, which he has done so for video games and animations. These include; voicing eight characters in the retro Run & Gun video game, Creepy Road; In which Martyn voices the grinning, gun totting, truck driver protagonist, Flint Trucker. Other projects include; Rogue State, Siegecraft Commander, Knell of St. Godhrkar, O'ink, Disassembled VR and the Anime style visual novel Chess of Blades. Recently Martyn has become a cast member of Channel 4's series Mashed where he plays the roles of Bob the Builder and Gordon the Big Engine. Martyn has also voiced in Dooro Bear, a popular Tik Tok animated series.
As well as acting, Martyn has had a passion for martial arts since a young age. He began with Tae Kwon Do at the age of 10 and through the years has practiced and learnt various styles including Karate, Boxing, Kickboxing, Grappling and most noticeably Shaolin Temple Boxing. He's also dabbled in various weapons such as the Nunchaku, Staff, Katana and others.
As a writer Martyn as written dialogue and scenes for films and video games. Some projects he's worked on he's not only been in front of the camera or behind the mic but at the writing desk too. He's currently writing two feature film screenplays.
Martyn is also a qualified teacher.
