Dawn Nagazina is a Métis-Canadian film, theatre, improv and voice over actor. She graduated from the Masterclass Program at the Company of Rogues Actors' Studio in Calgary, Alberta in 2019. Her studies included Meisner, on-camera, scene study, Shakespeare, voice, movement and improv.
Through the pandemic, Dawn studied at various LA- and Vancouver-based studios; the majority of her time was under the direction of Martha Gehman in her Advanced Scene Study class at Zak Barnett Studios. She has also had the privilege of attending workshops led by John Hindman, Donna Morong, Starlise Waschuk, Deborah Aquila, Christian Goutsis, Jane MacFarlane, Nancy Sorel.
In the past four years, Dawn has worked opposite Claire Rankin and Sergio Di Zio in Root of the Problem, was nominated for a Stinger award for Best Short Form Performance as the lead in the short film Aeternitas; appeared in Sci-fi Channel's Wynonna Earp, Reelz Channel's Friends Speak as Natalee Holloway, Reelz Channel's Sex, Lies & Murder and The Shocking Truth.
Dawn's career really kicked off in 2022; she recently starred opposite Shannon Elizabeth and Daniel Cudmore, in the Christmas film, Home for the Holidays, and in the thriller, Devious Deeds. Both expected to be out at the end of 2022.
When she's not acting, Dawn can be found writing and producing her own content and creating safe spaces where each individual's uniqueness is honored, celebrated and supported because she believes everyone deserves to feel empowered to express their full, authentic selves. In 2020 she produced the award-winning short documentary, Garden Shark: there are some things dementia can't touch alongside director, Anna Cooley. Recently, her creative partner, Kelsey Andries, and she completed six short narrative films for their production company Azzume Productions; Rerouted, Numb, It's Just Water, PL4NT, Kaashkitamaashoo, Scaley.
Before Dawn began acting, she was a highly competitive 800m runner who attended the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma as an NCAA Division I Full Scholarship Track & Field athlete. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Petroleum Engineering.
