Biography

Christopher Cano is an actor and producer known for Blood, M.F.A., and Tales of Morrissa. Chris is a native of Southern California growing up in El Monte, CA. He started acting while in high school; however, did not pursue a career in acting as he had to find a steady job to help his family. From time to time, Chris tried to get back into acting but was only able to do so as a background actor.

Today, Chris is a real-life police officer with a local police department in Southern California. He has been a police officer for 22 years and holds the rank of lieutenant and SWAT Commander. He has had the opportunity to work as a patrol officer, detective, narcotics detective, motor officer, Internal Affairs, corporal, sergeant, and his current assignment of Investigations Bureau Commander. Yet, Chris is also trained as a firefighter and paramedic and works part-time for a fire department near Pasadena, CA.

Two years ago, Chris had an opportunity to live his dream of acting which started with a phone call from his daughter, make-up artist, Jordan Cano. Jordan was working on the independent film M.F.A. During filming, Jordan called her dad and asked him if he would be willing to come to set and offer some technical advice on a murder scene. While on set, Chris was asked if he wanted to help with the scene to which he did not hesitate. This scene landed Chris a small speaking role and his resurgence to act.

If you talk to Chris, you can see how excited he is about pursuing his acting career. No part is too small. He enjoys being on set and really loves playing a cop or detective. "I want to bring the realism of the profession to the big screen and make cops proud of what they see." This is what he said when asked why he likes playing a cop.
