Image
Soap Hub looks at the Hits and Misses for the week of June 23-27 in the worlds of Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless, and Beyond the Gates.

Top 10 Hits and Misses

10. Miss (for now): Cat Greene’s Isa developments (Days). So it turns out that Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) is one of the best Isa Analysts Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy) has ever worked with, and in one fell swoop, the show filled in Cat’s origin story of how she ended up in Clyde’s clutches. On top of this, her new assignment required partnering up with Rafe (Galen Gering). We’re going to need time to process because it took a lot of heavy lifting to finally flesh out a character that has been on the canvas for a little over a year.

9. Hit: Tracy prevails thanks...

Image
Days of our Lives spoilers for June 30-July 4 tease the unexpected aftermath of Johnny’s confession.

Weekly Recap

Monday, June 23, 2025, Episode #15145

Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) tried getting Chad (Billy Flynn) to get Dimera back. Tony returned and Ej told him about Johnny (Carson Boatman) and the memory stick from Rafe’s (Galen Gering) camera. Later, Tony decided he needed to reclaim the family business on his own. Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) told JJ (Casey Moss) they plan on visiting more to keep an eye on Cat (AnnaLynne McCord). Shane (Charles Shaughnessy) asked Cat to return to the Isa. She tried to refuse after everything it cost her last time when Clyde (James Read) caught her and tormented her, but ultimately agreed. JJ ran into Gabi in the square and apologized for accusing her of shooting Ej only because of new evidence, which frustrated Gabi.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Is Cat Being Rewritten or is She an Isa Agent or Assassin to Kill Ej?
Image
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers are trying to give the new writers a chance as they change the show to fit their view, and this storyline has us curious.

When we first met Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord), she was held in the same room they found John Black (Drake Hogestyn) in.

This led to plenty of speculation as to why she was there, which we later found out was due to Clyde Weston (James Read). He wanted the Dimera fortune.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Is Cat Being Rewritten or is She an Isa Agent or Assassin to Kill Ej?

Okay, but why did Clyde kidnap and hold John? That was never answered, and the line between Cat and John being in the same room at different times was never drawn.

Like many, we thought it was a storyline that was forgotten. Like Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) looking nervous with...

Days of Our Lives June 23: Here’s the Real Truth About Cat Greene’s Past, Present, And Her New Mission
Image
In the Monday, June 23 episode of Days of Our Lives, Jack and Jennifer had game night with JJ and Thomas. On the verge of returning to Boston, they told JJ that one of the reasons they wanted to visit Salem more frequently was because of Cat Greene. Meanwhile, Gabi asked Chad to take back Dimera, although she should have been talking to Tony. And Shane had an illuminating chat with Cat.

The Real Truth About Cat Greene

Okay, so it was a real information dump on Cat Greene’s history during Monday’s episode. So here’s what we now know and how it all ties together:

Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) was an analyst for the Isa. One of the best ever, according to Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy). As an analyst, she wasn’t in the field, but she was assigned to the Clyde Weston (James Read) case. So she investigated his drug ring.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers For The Week of 6-23-25 Include An Arrest For Ej’s Shooting, But Not Until After Some Well-Deserved Happiness
Image
The first rule of life in Salem is that whoever the police arrest for a serious crime is innocent… at least the first five or six times.

Days of our Lives spoilers for the week of 6-23-25 promise that Rachel’s secret will come out, resulting in Johnny getting arrested for trying to kill Ej.

Fortunately, the legal drama won’t happen until after Andrew and Paul’s wedding, which will give us all a much-needed break from the heaviness of John’s death.

(Screenshot/Peacock) Andrew and Paul’s Wedding May Be Rushed, But At Least It’s A Happy Occasion

I’d be more excited for the wedding if the grooms had been on-screen more consistently in the lead-up.

They popped up in Salem after a long absence to help say goodbye to John, originally planning to have their wedding once he recovered and was out of the hospital.

Lake George (2024) Movie Review: A masterfully performed tale about guilt, guile, survival, and redemption
Shea Whigham at an event for Cop Car (2015)
Shea Whigham and Carrie Coon have been two of the ever-reliable actors for a long time. They have shined in many projects that were rarely the zeitgeist from those times. ‘Lake George’ (2024) offers them to be the dynamic central pair as versions of the classic runaway duo, ‘Bonnie and Clyde’. However, unlike the 1967 film, this crime thriller is far more grounded. It isn’t about an angry young man rebelling against the world. Instead, it’s about a middle-aged man, coping with past regrets, and hoping for a fresh start. In his journey for mere survival, he faces unusual problems.

The film’s protagonist, Don (Shea Whingham), returns from his long term in prison. Now fairly old, he struggles to find work or even a friendly face. His past friends and family ignore him. While some of them are dead, he is dead for the others. He is jaded and has nothing to return to.

3 Days of our Lives Characters We Need More Of In 2025… & 3 We Need Less Of
Image
As 2024 comes to a close in Salem, there are plenty of faces old and new we’d love to see more of on Days of our Lives… and plenty we’d like to see less of.

More of You

Salem’s newest resident, Doug III (Peyton Meyer), is one who should stick around town for a long time. With a connection to The Hortons, a suspicious past, and an attraction to Holly (Ashley Puzemis), Doug III has all the ingredients to become a beloved Salemites in the new year.

Now that JJ (Casey Moss) has decided to stay in Salem, it’s time for this fan favorite to get a major storyline. Of course, he’ll be seen a lot with his return to the Salem Pd and rekindling his relationship with Gabi (Cherie Jimenez), but this legacy character deserves a starring role in 2025.

'Dexter' Creator Addresses 'New Blood' Backlash: "The Internet Hated It"
Image
It’s been almost three years since the controversial ending to Dexter: New Blood, and creator Clyde Phillips has finally come clean about why he decided to kill off the beloved vigilante serial killer in what was – at the time – one of the biggest shocks in TV history. The 10-episode event saw the return of Michael C. Hall to the character he made famous after nearly eight years away, only for him to be gunned down by his own son when it was all said and done, seemingly left for dead in the snow.

Dexter: Original Sin changed all that, though, as the prequel series opened up right where New Blood left off, with the titular serial killer being rushed to a hospital and brought back to life. At the time he was working on New Blood, Phillips recently told The Hollywood Reporter that he wanted a definitive ending...

Here’s Who Made Santa’s Naughty & Nice List On Days of our Lives This Year
Image
It seems Santa’s naughty list has outweighed his nice list on Days of our Lives this year. Here’s who’s getting presents and who’s getting coal in Salem.

Short Nice List

Santa’s nice list is short and sweet in Salem, starting with, who everyone’s disbelief, Leo (Greg Rikaart). Sure, he kept the baby swap secret at the start of the year, and has made the naughty list plenty of times in the past, but this year, this typically love-to-hate character has turned into one who viewers hate to love. He’s been genuinely seeking romance, committed to doing right by Alice’s necklace, and even took charge of his mental health by seeking counseling from Marlena (Deidre Hall).

Read This: Here’s what’s coming up on Days.

Also on the nice list are both Chad (Billy Flynn) and JJ (Casey Moss). Chad has only...

Clint Eastwood's $104M Action Movie Gets A Dark Subtle Remake In New Crime Comedy, 46 Years Later
Image
Warning: Major spoilers for Amazon's Brothers below!Brothers offers a dark flipside to one of Clint Eastwood's most profitable movies. Brothers appears to be heavily inspired by the Arnold Schwarzenegger/Danny DeVito joint Twins, where the mismatched stars played identical twins. While not an official remake by any stretch, Brothers riffs on Twins in several ways. This includes the main characters going on a road trip that involves meeting their mother, while also being stalked by a relentless criminal trying to acquire an item they're holding onto.

This even extends to Brothers' ending sequence, where the twins are chased around by the movie's villain (played by Brendan Fraser) with a shotgun. The key difference between the two, however, is tone. Twins is a goofy comedy fit for the whole family, while Brothers is littered with pitch-black comedy throughout. The cast of Brothers 2024 - including leads Josh Brolin and...

Critic’s Review Hits and Misses: The Week of October 14-18
Image
Soap Hub looks at the Hits and Misses for the week of October 14-18 in the worlds of Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless.

Hits and Misses

What we think worked and didn’t work.

Young and the Restless

Hit: Faith comforted Lucy. Poor Lucy — she’s reeling from losing her mother at such an early age. And when Faith ran into Lucy, she immediately supported the teen. It’s exactly what Lucy needed and all of the awkwardness and the painful social cues weren’t there. Both Reylynn Caster and Lily Brooks O’Briant were great during these scenes.

Miss: Any scene of Billy (Jason Thompson) and Sally (Courtney Hope) running into Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam (Mark Grossman). Unfortunately, these scenes are not as fun or as dramatic as we want them to be.

Hit: Lily says: “Honestly,...

Days of Our Lives’s Casey Moss on How JJ Reacts to Meeting Fake Abigail
Image
In 2013, Casey Moss took over the role of JJ Deveraux on Days of Our Lives. Trouble always followed JJ, especially when he covered up the fact that he was doing drugs with Theresa the night she overdosed. After continuing to battle drugs, he cleaned his act up and left town for his own sanity. JJ was last seen in Salem at his sister Abigail’s funeral, but now that she’s seemingly back from the dead, he’s also returning.

It’s Like a Family Reunion

Abigail’s return from the dead has some people believing it, while others remain skeptical. Viewers know that she’s a fake Abby, or Fabby, played by AnnaLynne McCord. ‘Days Of Our Lives’ (Dool) spoilers tease that Chad Dimera (Billy Flynn) and Fake Abigail (AnnaLynn McCord) are about to tie the knot in Paris.

‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Trouble Will Come During “Abigail” And Chad’s Wedding Reception

While Chad has enticed Fake Abby with his love for the real Abigail and fond memories, she clearly feels guilty for lying to him. But she knows if she doesn’t go through with this wedding, Clyde Weston (James Read) will kill her mom.

To complicate matters, Fake Abby may be genuinely falling in love with Chad. She was moved to tears when Chad brought their wedding album to the Dimera mansion and recited his vows to her. There was a moment when the two almost kissed.

That being said, “Abigail” is conning Chad into marriage. She’s going through the motions to secure her mother’s freedom. According to the original plan,...

We Watched Days of Our Lives October 16 And Now We Have Questions
Image
On the Wednesday, October 16 episode of Days of Our Lives, there was a little body, soul, and betrayal going on. Plus, there was a healthy dose of fighting the good fight. And now we have questions.

Days Dilemmas Steve and Kayla

First, Steve’s (Stephen Nichols) instincts told him the woman staying at the Dimera mansion wasn’t Abigail. The way he tricked Dr. Mark Greene (Jonah Robinson) into performing another DNA test confirmed that the guy was a fraud. Now, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) triple-confirmed it by re-running the test with the original DNA samples. Then, Steve walked off while Kayla texted Chad (Billy Flynn) that the woman wasn’t Abigail. Now what?

What will Steve do now that he’s super sure that that woman marrying Chad isn’t Abigail?

So, is Steve immediately hopping on a plane to Paris? Will he be on the same plane as Mark,...

Once he’s dead, she’ll be his widow, get all his money, and hand it over to Clyde (James Read) in exchange for her missing mom.

Days of Our Lives October 14: Three Secrets Outed and The Damage They Will Cause
Image
The Monday, October 14 episode of Days of Our Lives was highly productive. Secrets were admitted, remembered, and discovered. And it was glorious. Now, what does this all mean for the people who banked on those secrets staying secret? Nothing good.

No More Secrets Fiona admits to hitting Sarah and then tries to kill her

The secret phase of this drunk driving paralysis story is just about over. While last week, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) remembered Fiona (Serena Scott Thomas) was the one behind the wheel, in Monday’s episode, she confronted her mad mother-in-law.

While it took some time, Fiona finally admitted it and then proceeded to try and throw a wheelchair-bound Sarah down the steps. Thankfully, Xander (Paul Telfer) arrived in time to stop that from happening.

From here on out, Xander will need to confront his mom. Fiona had it good, but she went too far. It’ll be...

Image
Squee! Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 10-14-24 promise that JJ Deveraux will be back to help unravel Fake Abigail’s scheme.

If you’ve followed my Days of Our Lives coverage over the years, you know that JJ is my favorite character. His teenage antics got me back into the show after a decade or more away from it, so it would be an understatement to say I’m beyond excited.

Even better, he’s going to work with Holly (and possibly Steve!) to expose the truth about Fake Abigail.

(Peacock/Screenshot) Days of Our Lives Spoilers For The Week of 10-14-24 Say JJ Will Officiate Chad and “Abigail’s” Wedding Could There Be More To This Than Meets The Eye?

‘Friends’ star Jennifer Aniston, though not very active on Instagram, recently offered her followers a glimpse into her busy life. The actress took to her Instagram and shared a carousel of images, including a selfie where she pouted her lips in a car, reports ‘People’ magazine.

Jennifer displayed her grown-out lob hairstyle, which she sported for much of the awards season in support of her series ‘The Morning Show’ this year.

According to ‘People’, several other photos in the carousel featured two of her three dogs, Lord Chesterfield and Clyde, lounging around and giving her some puppy-dog eyes.

Another shot captured Jennifer during a workout session at Pvolve — the celebrity-endorsed workout brand she previously partnered with — posing for a mirror selfie with the company’s director of training, Dani Coleman.

“I don’t usually like musicals”: Christopher Nolan’s La La Land Remarks Makes its Oscar Loss Even More Heartbreaking That Fans Still Can’t Get Over
Image
Through 96 years of auspicious Oscar ceremonies, the event has often witnessed one major contender becoming the punching bag for critical backlash on social media. In 2017, that dubious honor fell to La La Land, after the shocking moment where presenters Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty mixed up the musical with Moonlight, and announced it as Best Picture winner.

Christopher Nolan on Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Eventually, La La Land not only lost the Oscar for Best Picture but also witnessed a segment of moviegoers shifting from swooning over the film to loathing it. But one person who was unfazed by the Oscars’ mix-up and public comments, was legendary filmmaker Christopher Nolan. Making an exception of watching Damien Chazelle’s Best Picture nominee, three or four times in cinemas, Nolan expressed his love for the film.

Through his various criminal dealings that remain unexplained, Joseph has negotiated access to a safe house that can shield its inhabitants from the laws of time and space. It might look like a simple farmhouse far removed from civilization, but that’s exactly...

‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Team Tease Forthcoming ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ of the Star Trek Universe
Image
When showrunner Michelle Paradise and co-creator Alex Kurtzman sat down to begin planning what would ultimately become the final season of “Star Trek: Discovery” they had one big goal: “Bigger and bolder,” of course, Paradise said.

They didn’t originally know the program would be coming to an end, but they still wanted to take some big swings when it came to keeping the story fresh for Season 5 — and that means compelling villains.

“They’re kind of like the Bonnie and Clyde of the ‘Star Trek’ universe,” Kurtzman said to IndieWire about the new baddies that fans will meet in the premiere episode. “But like all great villains, they have a sympathetic story. You know the old adage: The villain is the hero of their own story. That’s very true for them, and I think ultimately you’ll love them as much as you’ll see them as the villain.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers for the Week of 3-11-24: Tate and Holly Become Starcrossed Lovers, Paulina Sees an Angel, and More!
Des jours et des vies (1965)
Starcrossed lovers have been popular since Shakespeare's day, and Days of Our Lives offers many.

They even had Ben and Ciara play Romeo and Juliet once (something most fans would like to forget!) Now, it's Tate and Holly's turn, and fortunately, it'll be the usual soap opera trope and not another re-rendition of the play.

According to spoilers for Days of Our Lives during the week of 3-11-24, Tate'll sneak into Holly's room... and as you might guess, Ej isn't too happy about it.

Tate's determined to get Holly to remember that he didn't give her the drugs.

He refused to take a guilty plea and is supposed to be in a halfway house while he awaits trial -- does he escape to talk to Holly in person?

That would be a terrible idea.

But fictional teenagers are prone to stupid, life-changing decisions, especially on soap operas. (See also...

‘Jeanne Du Barry’ Review: Johnny Depp Holds Court In PG Spin On Scandalous Historical Tale
Image
“The impertinence!” scream the courtiers of Louis Xv when his newly recruited mistress, Countess Jeanne du Barry, has the audacity to look him in the eye. It is just the latest in a long line of taboo-breaking outrages that surround the affair between the king and the commoner: She doesn’t have a title! She turns her back on him! She dresses like a man! For this reason alone, it’s easy to see why Maïwenn, one of France’s more controversial directors, saw fit to topline herself with Johnny Depp in a film that’s entirely about class and status and whose leading characters are bent on committing reputational suicide.

Jeanne du Barry also flexes the specifically French cultural views surrounding the topic of sexual impropriety. While the Cannes Film Festival continues to appear to be wilfully deaf to the topic of cancel culture, Maïwenn’s latest feature — which...

Agents of Shield Star Wants to Join Marvel’s New X-Men
Image
Actor Adrianne Palicki is one of that select group of actors who has had a foot in both the Marvel and DC universes onscreen. While her DC adventures did not work out so well – she played the title character in an unsold Wonder Woman pilot for NBC and appeared as a villain in an (also unsold) Aquaman pilot for The CW – her time with Marvel was more successful.

Palicki played agent Bobbi Morse, aka Mockingbird, for most of two seasons on Marvel’s ABC-tv series Agents of Shield, appearing in 31 episodes between 2014 and 2016 alongside team partner and ex-husband Lance Hunter (Nick Blood). Morse and Hunter were such a popular part of the ensemble that Marvel TV decided to spin them off at the end of Season 3 into their own series.

However, while a pilot for that show, Marvel’s Most Wanted, was shot, the fledgling series was not picked up...
