Braden Overwater was born on March 23rd, 1993 in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. His father Christopher Overwater, owns and operates a welding and fabrication company in his hometown of Didsbury, AB, and his mother Kristine Tkacik is a former high school teacher. A multi-sport athlete, upon graduating high school Braden went on to play basketball at the collegiate level. Despite an enjoyment of filmmaking in his youth, his first experience in the performing arts was through stand-up comedy. Soon after, he travelled to New York City and began studying and pursuing the field of Acting. Where he found a home on Central Park West in the company of esteemed acting coach Sheila Gray and her Drama Continues Acting Studio. Instantly finding a love for the community, and a comfort on the stage, he began to work on shaping and developing his skills in the craft. This eventually led him to further pursue his growing love for acting in Los Angeles, where he studied with mentor Gabriel Dell Jr and subsequently enrolled and completed the comprehensive two-year conservatory program at the infamous Stella Adler Academy of Acting. Located on Hollywood Boulevard, studying under the same legacy as the likes of actors Mark Ruffalo, and Benicio Del Toro.

Being raised in the small rural town of Didsbury, Alberta, Canada, the adjustment to the epicenters of New York City and Los Angeles was a daunting one but one that proved successful. His first role was soon landed on Syfy networks "Wynonna Earp" and followed soon after with a part on Netflix's zombie thriller series "Black Summer." Among these television credits Braden also has a wealth of experience on the stage among such productions and workshops as Neil Simon's comedy "Rumors," the pivotal role of Jack Worthing in Oscar Wilde's iconic case of mistaken identity "The Importance of Being Earnest," and even as the ever-polarizing Marquis de Sade in Doug Wright's "Quills." With A knack for character roles and a wide range, Braden attributes his success to the qualities and ideals instilled in him through his experiences in team sports and maintains the parallels between acting and sport, as well as his humble rural beginnings. He is grateful for the genuine truthful nature of his family and the members of the community in which he grew up.
