New HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ Set Leaks Showcase King’s Cross Station & Possibly Diagon Alley
Image
HBO is working on a new ‘Harry Potter’ series, as most of you likely know. The show will adapt one book per season, with seven seasons planned. Filming is set to start in summer 2025.

Now, in preparations for the upcoming filming, the first set leaks are making it online. Notable leaker UnBoxPHD recently shared what appears to be a first look at the station and soon-to-be Diagon Alley.

In the Harry Potter universe, the Station and Diagon Alley are very important places. The Station refers to King’s Cross Station, where students take the train to Hogwarts. There is a secret platform there called Platform 9¾. It cannot be seen by normal people.

To get to it, wizards and witches must walk through a wall between platforms nine and ten. This is the place where Harry...

Phoebe Waller-Bridge Re-Ups With Amazon, Shifts to First-Look Deal
Image
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is sticking with Amazon, shifting from an exclusive overall deal to a new first-look deal with the streamer, TheWrap has learned.

The “Fleabag” creator’s new agreement comes a year after Prime Video greenlit her adaptation of “Tomb Raider,” which will star Sophie Turner as Lara Croft.

Waller-Bridge is the latest to shift to a first-look deal, following J.J. Abrams striking a similar pact with Warner Bros. in December. She first signed an overall deal with the tech giant in 2019, which was subsequently extended in 2023.

The move comes as Amazon MGM Studios head Jen Salke was ousted from her role at the studio last week and will transition to a producing deal.

Salke will not be replaced at the studio. Instead, Mike Hopkins, head of both Amazon MGM and Prime Video, will take full command, with theatrical/streaming film chief Courtenay Valenti and TV chief Vernon Sanders reporting directly to him.

5 Things We Want to See If ‘Fleabag’ Returns for Season 3
Image
The witty and quirky Fleabag, played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, said goodbye to her delightful fans about 6 years ago. Nevertheless, the chant to get another season full of her dry remarks, insightful observations, and insanely relatable antics is louder than ever. Fleabag’s character made many women in their mid-life years feel seen and heard.

In the two seasons it premiered on television, Fleabag couldn’t manage to garner as much popularity as it did when it landed on streaming platforms. Adult women across generations resonated with Fleabag’s life and her reactions to its tragedies.

Particularly when she falls for a man she cannot have, we see a representation of forbidden love like never before. If fans are heard and the actress returns for another season, we would love for her to include the following aspects that can add more value to the story.

1. Fleabag being able to love again...

Indiana Jones 5 Director Says He Was 'Hurt' By Movie's Mixed Reception
Image
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny received a lukewarm reception following its May 2023 release. Over a year later, director James Mangold says the harsh criticism still stings.

According to Mangold, fans were simply unable to accept an older Indy. "You have a wonderful, brilliant actor who's in his eighties. So I'm making a movie about this guy in his eighties, but his audience on one other level doesn't want to confront their hero at that age," the filmmaker told Deadline. "And I am like, I'm good with it. We made the movie. But the question is how would anything have made the audience happy with that, other than having to start over again with a new guy?"

10 Shows to Watch if You Loved Nobody Wants This
Image
It is the comeback season of the romantic comedy, and Netflix has stepped into the arena with its best yet Nobody Wants This, starring Adam Brody and Kristen Bell of The O.C. and Gossip Girl fame. Many elements set Nobody Wants This apart from usual rom-coms, the first being that it was a romance between a more mature couple. While it isn't clear what their ages are, they are somewhere in their mid-to-late thirties, at least, which makes for a more nuanced watch than a teen or early 20s love story.

The unlikely pairing between a free-spirited podcaster and a Jewish rabbi is perhaps the next most distinctive thing about Nobody Wants This. There is a clear cultural rift that Noah and Joanne must bridge, and not without external hurdles to overcome. Their mutual growth and understanding leave the audience wanting more, and fortunately, there are plenty of other similar...

We Really Wanted Another Lara - Tasha Huo on Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft
Image
The following contains minor spoilers for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft Season 1, now streaming on Netflix.

Like Batman or Spider-Man, there's never too much Lara Croft. The iconic heroine has been reiterated in video games, movies, comics and now, an animated series. Showrunner and writer Tasha Huo describes Netflix's Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft as a "bridge" between the different versions of Lara Croft that fans have seen over the years. This version of Lara, voiced by Hayley Atwell, still has to confront the demons of her past to save the world from an apocalyptic catastrophe, but is vulnerable enough to rely on her closest friends for help.

Lara's characterization has been heavily criticized in the past for her overly sexualized and unrealistic design, plus her stoic nature. In recent years, her design has immensely improved both physically and emotionally, starting with the Survivor reboot trilogy...

There are plenty of writers and creators who have managed to get their twists just right. For the British TV industry, a number of shows have been hailed for their overall excellent plot, which is underlined with an unforgettable twist that no one saw coming.

10 Most Ambitious Movies That Were the Biggest Box Office Disasters
Image
Hollywood has a long history of varied success when it comes to cinematic releases, with stories that range from box office disasters, like Borderlands, to shocking hits, like Bring It On. It can often be hard to predict these flops, with many films having everything going for them on paper, from strong budgets to all-star casts. Unfortunately, several factors have contributed to some of the most ambitious films in history failing at the box office.

Films can fail at the box office for several reasons, ranging from tough competition to unwanted sequels or betrayal of source material. Word of mouth has always been a make or break for the success of films, and if a movie is considered terrible by early audiences, that can sabotage even the strongest marketing campaigns. For some films, their grasp exceeded their reach, and their ambition simply proved too costly. Not all of these films are bad,...

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny's Ending, Explained
Image
The following contains spoilers for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, now playing in theaters.

Lucasfilm's Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny brings Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones (aka Indy) back for one last hurrah. This time, he's joined by his goddaughter, Helena Shaw, as they seek yet another powerful relic. This is the Archimedes Dial, which has the ability to detect "fissures in time," allowing wielders to plot and traverse the time stream.

Once more, Indy has to dig deep to save the day. While he battles depression, he's lucky to have Helena picking up the slack, along with her own version of Short Round, Teddy. It leads to yet another high-octane, intense conclusion. But this time, there's a deep, sentimental sense of healing and closure that Indy garners.

Indiana Jones 5's Best Character is the Anti-Indy
Image
The following contains spoilers for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, in theaters now.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is a very fun addition to the iconic action-adventure series. It maintains a deep tonal connection to the heights of the franchise while giving Indiana Jones one last mission. Yet the film also brings its own ideas to the property, namely through its tweaks to older concepts. This includes the rival archeologist working against Indy -- who turns out to be his best foil.

Helena Shaw is a great addition to the Indiana Jones universe. Phoebe Waller-Bridge's role in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is to serve as a strong contrast to the titular hero. Helena retains enough of Indy's elements to be a compelling lead, but has enough morally dubious aspects that she stands out as her own individual. If the series wants to continue without Harrison Ford,...

Indiana Jones 5 Highlights the Importance of History to the Franchise
Image
The following contains spoilers for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, in theaters now.

Being an archeologist by trade, Indiana Jones as a hero is deeply rooted in real-world history. That's been a blessing and curse at various points in the series, but it allows him to connect with the ancient artifacts that often form the center of his adventures. It's also a thematic strength that improves the films when it's a focus -- so much so that it was clear when it was missing from the weaker entries in the series.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny brings history and the connection Indy has to it to the forefront -- both thematically and literally. The impact history has on Indiana Jones' life and relationships is a strong undercurrent of the film, connecting it to earlier movies in the series. It also explains why history makes these films...

Tomb Raider Show In Development At Prime Video With Phoebe Waller-Bridge
Image
A new Tomb Raider series is currently in the works with Fleabag creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The Tomb Raider franchise began as a series of video games centered on the titular adventurer Lara Croft, an archaeologist who goes on a series of daring adventures in ancient ruins and, naturally, tombs. The game series was originally adapted into live-action in the 2001 film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider starring Angelina Jolie, which was followed by the 2003 sequel Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life. The film wing of the franchise was later rebooted with Alicia Vikander in 2018's Tomb Raider, though that film's promised sequel has failed to come to fruition in the meantime.

Per THR, the iconic Lara Croft will return once more, but this time to the small screen. Amazon is developing a new Prime Video series adapting the property with Waller-Bridge attached as the main writer. Along...

Phoebe Waller-Bridge To Adapt Dark Comedy Novel Sign Here For Prime Video
Image
Prime Video will remain in the Phoebe Waller-Bridge business. The streaming home for Waller-Bridge's Emmy-winning series, "Fleabag," is eyeing a new series from her and novelist Claudia Lux based on Lux's debut novel, "Sign Here."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Waller-Bridge has renewed her three-year deal with Amazon, which was set to expire this September. As part of the renewal, she and Lux are developing a TV adaptation of "Sign Here," which the book's publisher, Penguin Random House, describes as a "darkly humorous, utterly gripping debut novel about a guy who works in Hell (literally)." The protagonist, Peyote Trip, works "in the deals department on the fifth floor of Hell," where "the only drink on offer is Jägermeister." Though it might sound like a double entendre of the kind Fleabag might make, this feels like something that would be right up Waller-Bridge's alley.

Indiana Jones 5 Will Reveal What Happened to Shia Labeouf's Mutt
Image
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will not feature the controversial character of Shia Labeouf's Mutt from the previous film Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but audiences will find out what happened to him. The upcoming action-adventure movie is due for a June 30, 2023 release, and will be the fifth installment in the hugely successful Indiana Jones franchise, as well as the final movie to star Harrison Ford in the titular role. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and the character of Mutt in particular, was not well received with audiences.

However, this is not going to be a case of revisionist history, with the movie pretending the character never existed in the first instance; instead, his absence in the movies is set to be touched upon, and audiences will get answers to explain what has happened to the character. According to director James Mangold,...

10 Biggest Reveals In The Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny Trailer
Image
Lucasfilm has finally unveiled the trailer for Indiana Jones’ fifth adventure. The tantalizing teaser revealed the title of the movie – Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny – alongside a handful of other exciting reveals. Director James Mangold seems to have masterfully recaptured the pulpy action-adventure magic of Steven Spielberg’s original movies.

From the old-school action to the flawless digital de-aging effects to Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s role as Indy’s wisecracking sidekick, the Dial of Destiny trailer is full of big revelations about the upcoming movie.

The Title

Until the trailer arrived, the fifth Indy movie was simply known as Indiana Jones 5. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny has been rumored to be the movie’s title for a while, but the trailer confirms it as the official moniker.

While “Dial” might not be as grabby or eye-catching as buzzwords like “Temple” and “Kingdom,” the title has a nice...

‘You had me at Phoebe Waller-Bridge’: Fans rejoice at Fleabag star’s appearance in Indiana Jones 5 trailer
Image
The trailer has been released for the new Indiana Jones movie – and Phoebe Waller-Bridge fans are rejoicing at the first look at her starring role.

Harrison Ford is reprising his role in the film, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, as the whip-cracking archaeologist, more than 40 years after first playing the character.

He appears decades younger in some scenes, thanks to de-aging technology.

Fleabag creator and star Waller-Bridge portrays his goddaughter Helena, while Mads Mikkelsen and Antonio Banderas are the other big names involved.

The trailer teases glimpses of chase sequences, Nazi baddies, giant rolling boulders, and plenty of galloping horses.

But Waller-Bridge fans have been most excited about her appearance in the trailer – the actor is seen holding onto a speeding vehicle for dear life at one point, and sprinting towards an unknown emergency at another.

“Haven’t heard enough people talk about this, but Phoebe Waller-Bridge is...

Indiana Jones 5 Producer Confirms Relationship Between Indy and Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Character
John Rhys-Davies
The search for Indiana Jones news continues! The long-in-production fifth Indiana Jones movie did get some attention during the studio showcase at last week’s D23 fan expo, but while the general public learned that John Rhys-Davies would return as Sallah, and Harrison Ford and his Temple of Doom co-star Ke Huy Kwan shared an adorable photo op, only those in attendance got to see a trailer. And nobody, present at the Expo or otherwise, learned the title of the upcoming film. I don’t know if Disney expects us to look for clues in words engraved on the shield of a dead knight’s tomb, but they are not being very forthcoming so far!

However, producer Frank Marshall did offer a bit more info via his Twitter. Retweeting a snapshot of Ford and co-star Phoebe Waller-Bridge from the latter’s account, Marshall added the headline: “Indy and his goddaughter,...

‘Indy 5’ Trailer Screened at D23 Expo: Harrison Ford Says Movie Will ‘Kick Your A*s’
Image
Indy’s back — again. Years after the fourth film in the “Indiana Jones” franchise worried fans that star Harrison Ford was finally hanging up his hat — remember the scene in which his son, played by Shia Labeouf, quite literally picks up his famous fedora? — the franchise is back with yet another zippy adventure, one that promises that Ford remains the only Indy in the world. The D23 Expo unveiled the first official trailer for the movie in Anaheim on Saturday — but it hasn’t been released online just yet.

In the much-anticipated fifth film of the series, Ford is joined by a number of new stars, including Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Antonio Banderas, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Toby Jones. Directed by James Mangold, the film features a script from Jez and John-Henry Butterworth, who are also new to the franchise.

During the presentation, an emotional Harrison Ford,...

One of the stars of Bridgerton is taking on another period drama at Showtime.

Jonathan Bailey has joined the cast of Fellow Travelers, a limited series set in 1950s Washington, D.C. He’ll star opposite Matt Bomer and Allison Williams in the series.

Showtime gave the eight-episode Fellow Travelers a series order in April. Based on a novel by Thomas Mallon, the series is part love story, part political thriller that will track the volatile romance of two very different men who meet in the shadow of McCarthy-era Washington: Hawkins Fuller (Bomer), a charismatic political operative who avoids emotional entanglements — until he meets Tim Laughlin (Bailey), an earnest Fordham University graduate brimming with idealism and religious faith.

Williams (Girls, Get Out) is playing Lucy Smith, the daughter of a senator who has known Hawkins since they were teenagers.

TCA Awards: Fleabag Dominates With 3 Trophies; Better Call Saul, Russian Doll, Michelle Williams Also Snag Major Wins
Image
Phoebe Waller-Bridge‘s global takeover continued in earnest late Saturday, with the Brit auteur’s tragicomic Amazon series Fleabag dominating the 2019 Television Critics Association Awards with three trophies, including best comedy series, best comedic performer (for Waller-Bridge) and the coveted Program of the Year. Waller-Bridge, who in addition to being Fleabag‘s titular star also is the show’s creator/writer/EP, was on hand for the non-televised ceremony, which was hosted by Desus & Mero. (Could a Fleabag Emmy sweep be next?)

Waller-Bridge has previously stated that Fleabag‘s now-TCA award winning second season would serve as the series’ swan song.
