Jean was born in São Paulo, southeastern Brazil, but grew up in the small town of Itu, in the interior of São Paulo. Her mother, Tânia, is a teacher, and her father, Edgard Machado, is a Physical Education teacher. At the age of 20, he moved alone to "Rio de Janeiro" to study theater.
In addition to his acting career, Jean is a clown and musician. In 2020, during the pandemic, he was awarded for his short film "El Baño" made only with a cell phone, at a festival in Spain.
