Hakeem Jomah at the 2025 Oscars
Hakeem Jomah is an actor, writer, and filmmaker who left a career in medicine to pursue filmmaking.

He is best known for starring in, writing, and producing the horror film MADAYEN, which was screened at 11 international film festivals and won nine awards. Also, his short film DON'T GO TOO FAR was screened at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner in 2018 and won Best Actor at the Saudi Film Festival. Moreover, Hakeem starred in several TV shows, such as RASHASH, KIDNAP, and MANHO WALADNA.

In 2022, he directed his feature film KAYAN, which was produced by Film Clinic and MBC Studios. The film had its world premiere at the inaugural edition of the Red Sea International Festival and went on to win two awards at the Saudi Film Festival.

A year later, he played a role in KING OF THE RING - directed by Mohammed Saeed Harib and starring Yasin Ghazzawi, Faisal Al-Kurdi, Salma Abu Deif, Mohammed Lotfy, and Shadi Alfons - which was featured at the 2022 Red Sea International Film Festival. He also appeared in the ninth episode of the Shahid original series SLAVE MARKET, which takes place in Saudi Arabia. The series - directed by Lassaad Oueslati and written by Heba Mashari Hamada - features an international cast that includes Fayez Bin Jurays, Alanoud Saud, Hashim Najdi, Nawaf Al-Dhafairi, Apeksha Porwal, Sanchi Rai, Aishwarya Shanker, and others. His works in 2023 also include the upcoming Saudi film AHLAM AL ASR, which is being directed by Faris Godus.

Not content with limiting himself to the local scene, Hakeem eventually set his sights on more global projects, starring in the American TV series LAST LIGHT, which was released on Shahid and Peacock, in 2022.

He starred alongside Gerard Butler in KANDAHAR, an American film directed by Ric Roman Waugh that was released in 2023. In 2023, he will appear in the adventure movie DESERT WARRIOR, which is still in production and is directed by RISE OF THE PLANT OF THE APES director Rupert Wyatt and co-written by Erica Beeney, Gary Rodd, and David Self. Jomah is co-starring with Anthony Mackie, Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley, and Sharlto Copley.
