Dave Grohl, in Corpse Paint, Performs on Drums with boygenius at Halloween Show
Image
boygenius staged a special Halloween show at the Hollywood Bowl, which included a surprise appearance from Dave Grohl.

The Foo Fighters frontman, wearing corpse paint, joined boygenius on drums for a performance of “Satanist.” For their part, Lucy Dacus, Julien Baker, and Phoebe Bridgers were dressed up as the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, respectively.

Tuesday’s concert at the Hollywood Bowl marked boygenius’ final scheduled tour date in support of their debut album, the record. However, they still have one more live performance on the calendar, as they’re set to appear as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live’s November 11th episode with host Timothée Chalamet.

Grohl’s Foo Fighters just made their own appearance on SNL, where they performed “Rescued” and The Glass.” Next summer, they’ll embark on a North American summer tour alongside a rotating cast of support acts including The Hives, The Pretenders,...

This The Simpsons review contains spoilers.

The Simpsons Season 31 Episode 9

The Simpsons, season 31, episode 9 "Todd, Todd, Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me?," is a revelation. It is as perfect an installment as any latter-day Simpson offering. Subtitled "The Flanderseseses," a faux series in itself which is owned by Disney and created by god, the foster family has its own theme song. Derived from The Simpsons theme, it is filled with oodlies and doodlies. The Simpson family even gives over the opening couch gag. The godly Flanders family, of course, doesn’t have a couch because Ned gave it away to a less fortunate family. One imagines a homeless clan somewhere in Springfield having to take care of a couch. This leaves poor Todd to do the devil's work at the chalkboard.

Joy-Anna Forsyth in 17 Kids and Counting (2008)
At Last! See the Moment Joy-Anna Duggar & Austin Forsyth Share Their Very First Kiss
Joy-Anna Forsyth in 17 Kids and Counting (2008)
Sealed with a kiss!

On Monday’s Counting On, viewers got to watch a two-hour special episode documenting Joy-Anna Duggar‘s wedding to Austin Forsyth — including their much-anticipated first kiss. (The Duggar family’s extremely conservative version of dating bans kissing until marriage and generally limits physical contact to “side-hugs.”)

“Are you ready?” Austin, 23, whispers to his bride in a clip from the scene.

“By the power vested in me in the state of Arkansas, I do pronounce that you are husband and wife,” their pastor announces. “In the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost,...

The Ultimate Crossroad: The Trouble with "Silence"
She could never be a saint, but she thought she could be a martyr if they killed her quick.—Flannery O’Connor The mist uncovers Japanese soldiers as well as the grim sight of severed heads by the side of the hot springs where Catholic priests are being tortured. A priest kneels down in horror, almost catatonic, unable to bring himself to believe in the evilness of these men, the men of the Inquisitor. Why are these priests, who came to this “swamp of Japan” to spread the Word of the Lord, suffering so immensely on the hands of these soldiers? To the modern, secular audience, the theme of Silence (2016) is of great irony: the all-powerful Catholic Church, the institution that spread terror across Europe for 700 years with her bonfires and witch hunts and enforcing an almost maddening outlook at faith and personal behavior, comes to an unconquerable land where...

The 1 Change Prince William and Kate Middleton Made to Their Wedding Vows
Prince William and Kate Middleton said their "I dos" in a gorgeous ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London in April 2011. There were so many beautiful moments to behold from their big day, but one that really had us in tears was when the couple recited their wedding vows. While Will and Kate exchanged traditional wedding vows from the Book of Common Prayer, they made one slight tweak - they removed the word "obey." The first royal bride to drop the word was William's late mother, Princess Diana, who omitted it when she married Prince Charles in 1981. Check out their wedding vows in full below. Archbishop: "William Arthur Philip Louis, wilt thou have this woman to thy wedded wife, to live together according to God's law in the holy estate of matrimony? Wilt thou love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all other,...
