Rob Finnerty to Take Over 8 P.M. Hour on Newsmax
Image
Newsmax is making a major change to its primetime lineup, giving Rob Finnerty the 8 p.m. time slot beginning Oct. 8, when he will host a new program called Finnerty.

Finnerty is currently co-host of the conservative cable news channel’s morning show Wake-Up America, alongside Sharla McBride. It is not clear what Newsmax’s plans will be for the morning program going forward.

The 8 p.m. time slot previously belonged to Eric Bolling, but Bolling, a former Fox News host who joined Newsmax in 2021, left the channel earlier this year.

Newsmax’s lineup also includes former CNN, Fox News and MSNBC host Greta Van Susteren at 6 p.m., former Fox News host Rob Schmitt at 7 p.m., Greg Kelly at 9 p.m. and a panel show led by Chris Plante at 10 p.m.

“Rob has demonstrated success in our morning show and connects with our audience in a powerful way,...

Radio Host Don Geronimo Fired After Calling Female Reporter ‘Barbie’ & ‘Cheerleader’ At Commanders Training Camp

A sports radio host in D.C. was fired after he made sexist comments about a female TV reporter on-air.

Michael Sorce, more commonly known as “Don Geronimo,” made remarks about Sharla McBride, who is a reporter for WUSA9, while she was covering the Washington Commanders.

Geronimo spoke to McBride while he was on the air with co-host Crash Young saying, “Hey look, Barbie’s here. Hi, Barbie girl. I’m guessing she’s a cheerleader.”

He continued to speak about McBride when he later saw her again and said that Young described her as “tight.” He was cut off before he could finish his sentence as he was saying, “Yah. I screamed tight when she was.…”

iHeartMedia was banned by the Commanders from their training camp facilities on Friday. The two have had a partnership since 2022.

A few days after the incident, iHeartMedia fired Geronimo. In a statement by the D.C. president of iHeartMedia,...

Local Radio DJ Booted From Washington Commanders Training Camp After Calling Woman Sports Reporter “Barbie” On Air Is Fired
Image
A DJ from the flagship radio station of the NFL’s Washington Commanders was fired after an incident earlier in the week when he and a partner, broadcasting live from the team’s Virginia training facility, called a local female sports reporter “Barbie” and “a cheerleader” on air while she was on assignment covering the team.

Michael Sorce, known as Don Geronimo, from Wbig-fm Big 100, was broadcasting live Thursday at the facility in Ashburn, Va, when he and his co-host Crash Young saw WUSA9-tv reporter Sharla McBride walking inside the facility and began commenting on air.

“Hey look, Barbie’s here. Hi, Barbie girl,” Geronimo said live on air. “I’m guessing she’s a cheerleader.”

Later, when Geronimo and co-host Crash Young saw McBride again conducting interviews, they continued.

“Oh hey. There’s that chick that you thought … you said tight?” said Geronimo. “Yah. I screamed tight when she was …” said Young.
