Quotes

Daniel Hunt

Edit
  • Any insecurity for an actor auditioning for a job will be magnified. You have to have the confidence to know that you are good at what you do, without it being an arrogance. If not, how can you actually get up and do it? If you go to a tailor, to have a suit made, you go to the chap who will make you the best suit. You don't go to the guy who tells you he can just make 'an ok outfit'. If a director asks you if you are a good actor, you have to be able to look them in the eyes and know that you are. It's your job description.

  • An actor in training is under total personal scrutiny. Their voice, movement, physique, creativity and talent are constantly being analyzed for ways to enhance or improve themselves. This process makes us feel incredibly vulnerable, but we have to be open enough to take on others constructive observations and do something with them. I think, the best note I was ever given was, "Don't take it personally, but, take it personally!"

  • As actors we are paid to have wild imaginations! The wilder the better!

  • Creative individuals can be incredibly insecure. It took me quite a few years to be able to just accept a compliment and say "Thank You" rather than "I could have done that piece better!" - Daniel Hunt (Actor/director) (60 Minutes)
  • 'Here Goes' is a pretty good prep note to always have in your head. It works for me anyway, even when answering this question.
