Deadly Haunted Maze Indie Horror Film 'The Haunted Forest' Trailer
Image
"And remember: any screaming that you may hear – is all just part of the show. Or at least, let's hope so." Crazy Lake Pictures has revealed the first official trailer for the indie horror film The Haunted Forest, made by filmmaker Keith Boynton. This is premiering later this month at FrightFest 2025 in the UK, hence the trailer debuting now, despite now final release date yet. Scare mazes are all fun and games until people start dying for real. When Zach, a high-school senior obsessed with all things horror and Halloween, goes to work at his cousin's famous haunted forest horror attraction called "The Haunted Forest", a series of strange killings begin, and he finds himself questioning his fascination with death and devotion to the macabre. The filmmakers partnered with Markoff's Haunted Forest to shoot this brand new indie horror film right on the grounds of the longest scare trail in America.

Exclusive: The Haunted Forest Trailer Teases A Halloween To Remember
Image
For someone who lives and breathes horror movies, haunted attractions terrify me. Everything unfolding on screen, where I can pause or stop? Easy. Being up close and personal with someone dressed like they want to murder me? No, thanks. And it’s thanks to movies like writer and director Keith Boynton’s upcoming release, The Haunted Forest, that keep feeding into my (admittedly irrational) fear.

Read the full synopsis below:

Zach, a high-school senior obsessed with all things horror and Halloween, lands his first job – as a scare actor at the famous Markoff’s Haunted Forest attraction in Maryland, owned by his cousin. Zach soon makes friends with the band of other misfits who fuel the fear for expectant visitors. But after one of them dies tragically on the grounds, a series of strange killings begin, and Zach finds himself questioning his fascination with death and devotion to the macabre.

‘He Sees You When You’re Sleeping’ VOD Review
Image
Stars: Will Pealer Jr., Scot Scurlock, Nick Nichols, David Lenik, Nellie Spackman, Caroline Williams, Cedric Gegel, Natalie Veater, Peyton Michelle Edwards | Written by David Lenik | Directed by Charlie Steeds

He Sees You When You’re Sleeping is the most recent film from prolific British director Charlie Steeds who caps off a busy year with his first venture into Ho Ho Ho Horror, something I’m surprised it’s taken him so long to get around to.

On Christmas Eve, 1963 young Chester (Will Pealer Jr.) is told a bedtime story about Santa on a killing spree by his Uncle Nick. It proves to be an omen as later that night serial killer Henry Bates (Nick Nichols) escapes from the asylum and makes his way to Copper Grove where he slaughters the Van Buren family, leaving only one survivor.

Seventeen years and a lot of therapy later, Chester returns to Copper Grove. With...

‘He Sees You When You’re Sleeping’ Looks Like a ‘Silent Night, Deadly Night’ Knockoff [Trailer]
He Sees You When You're Sleeping (2024)
The next killer Santa horror movie is headed our way in just a few weeks in He Sees You When You’re Sleeping, and Fangoria has debuted the upcoming indie’s official trailer today.

He Sees You When You’re Sleeping slashes into VOD outlets on November 1.

In the holiday horror movie from director Charlie Steeds (The Barge People), “Chester returns to the home of his estranged and hideously over-privileged family at Christmas, only to find an unknown killer disguised in a Santa outfit is stalking and killing family members one by one, in order to claim the huge family fortune. Which one of them is the killer?”

Caroline Williams (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2), Lauren-Marie Taylor (Friday the 13th Part 2), Nicholas Vince (Hellraiser), Cedric Gegel and Christopher Kahler star.

David Lenik wrote the screenplay for He Sees You When You’re Sleeping.

2023 Emmy nominations ballot: See all 61 Best TV Movie contenders from ‘Adult Swim Yule Log’ to ‘White Men Can’t Jump’
Image
The made-for-tv movie was a programming staple for the broadcast networks in the 1970s and 1980s. While it fell out of favor in the 1990s and was even dropped as an Emmy Awards category for three years beginning in 2011, it has been on an upswing as of late. This year, a whopping 61 telefilms are in contention for the five nominations that will be revealed on July 12. Last year, there were only 48 options, compared to 41 in 2021 and 28 in 2020.

All 20,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 26 to cast their 2023 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for their favorite TV movies. A new rule change will require each voter to make no more than five selections in this category, whereas there was previously no limit. As opposed to the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.

Just like on the limited series ballot,...
