Park was most recently seen on the AppleTV+ dark comedy High Desert starring Patricia Arquette, and in Starz’s thriller Shining Vale, opposite Courteney Cox. Patella was a fast-rising star at A3 where she began in 2019 as an assistant in the Talent division before being promoted to Coordinator and then Talent Agent. Patella studied Arts Administration at Wagner College and began her career as a casting assistant at Laura Stanczyk Casting, where she focused on Regional Theatre, Off-Broadway and Broadway Productions. King has partnered with Audio Up Media, iHeart Media, and producer Lee Metzger (The Voice) to create Strawberry Spring, a new show based on a tale from his 1978 short story collection Night Shift.

The series follows a journalist as he hunts for a serial killer named Springheel Jack. Metzger will write and direct, while the show will star Garrett Hedlund, Milo Ventimiglia, Herizen F. Guardiola, Sydney Sweeney, Ken Marino, and Al Madrigal.

Barisic’s Bond Artist Management will be based in New York, covering creative and talent management.

“The partners at Untitled Entertainment wish Barisic much success and look forward to collaborating and supporting him with his new endeavor,” Untitled leadership said in a statement.

But when Megan Abbott and Gina Fattore were adapting Abbott’s 2012 novel “Dare Me” for a 2019 audience, they made it a point to focus more on the universality of a coming-of-age drama and how sometimes one relationship can change everything.

“We were always much more interested in the ‘internalities’ of adolescence, rather than the things that technology or social media change. Heading into the final five episodes of “The Get Down,” it feels like the story surrounding Baz Luhrmann’s Netflix series has overwhelmed its narrative. Production budgets, structural innovations, and a rare split in the streaming giant’s “all at once” release strategy have dominated conversation, instead of how hip-hop was mis-appropriated and corrupted by the record business. Outside of Baz Luhrmann’s love-it-or-leave-it filmmaking style, there’s no real reason for this: The first six episodes of “The Get Down” delivered its message with addictive grooves and intimate passion. At the very least, everyone should have found a song or two that got them out of their seat and a character (or six) to champion.

When “The Get Down” returns for the second half of its first season on Netflix, the year is 1978; one year after The Get Down Brothers defeated The Notorious Three. Despite that victory, Zeke (Justice Smith), aka Books, and the rest of the crew are still trying to make their mark with an emerging musical style.

In the trailer for the series’ return below, though, we can see Books in a stuffy blazer, and even though he can make anything look good, it’s so drab and dismal compared to the red he wears when he rhymes. Does that fact that Ed Koch is mayor have anything to do with it? Run, Zeke, run!

Unfortunately, Shaolin Fantastic (Shameik Moore) appears to have sunken even deeper into Fat Annie’s (Lillias White) clutches.

Since the turn of the year, Netflix has steadily filled its slate of original content for the first half of 2017. Iron Fist, for instance, kicks things off with an almighty punch on March 17th, and will be followed in quick succession by new seasons of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and Bill Nye Saves the World, which is a relative newcomer to the Netflix pantheon.

Another series that has now booked its placed on that bustling lineup is The Get Down. It’ll return with half a dozen new episodes on April 7th, and we understand Part II will check in on hip-hop supergroup The Get Down Brothers in 1978, a full year after their electrifying debut. Mylene Cruz (Herizen F. Guardiola) and Books (Justice Smith) will once again anchor the drama as two lovestruck musicians swept up in the cultural upheaval at the time.

“The Get Down” got people up out of their seats when it debuted on Netflix last summer, but the new teaser trailer promises we haven’t seen anything yet. Come April 7, when the second half of Season 1 debuts, Baz Luhrmann and The Get Down Brothers are going to drop some “major league” music on us.

The sweeping upheaval of late ’70s New York City finds an as-yet-unnamed new pop cultural force striking a new beat in the Bronx, while disco still reigns supreme. Our young lovers Books and Mylene are caught in the swirl of a looming cultural revolution destined to change everything about their world — but they have this moment to make their mark. Amidst the backdrop of a bankrupt New York City, ruthless gangsters and money-hungry record label bosses, they discover it’s only their creativity and love that will carry them through — and that they’ll sacrifice everything for their music, and each other.

Riz Ahmed, “The Night Of”

The British actor had a small role in “Nightcrawler” on the big screen, but he makes a huge splash on HBO’s anthology drama as Nasir “Naz” Khan, the young man whose night out with a captivating woman goes awry when he discovers her stabbed and he’s accused of her murder. Ahmed is hypnotic in his stillness and silences, but one look at his expressive eyes, and it’s clear that Naz is taking everything in as he learns to navigate the world of prison politics and legal strategy. One can’t help to root for him because he’s clearly innocent… isn’t he? Therein lies Ahmed’s genius, his ability to play both sides so that the viewer oscillates between sympathy and dread that we have gotten it wrong. We can’t wait to see what he does in the Star Wars universe for “Rogue One.

Many filmmakers who transition to television describe the switch as a simple one, usually using a phrase to the effect of, “It’s just a 10-hour movie.” They pretend — and I do mean pretend — that the only difference between what they made for the cinema and what they’re doing for television is the literal length of time they have with the characters.

This, however, is a lie; a lie often innocently told to toss aside a question with a much more complex answer, but still a lie. For the truth is, TV seasons aren’t just longer movies. They’re not novels, either (another popular, but only slightly more accurate simile). They’re TV shows, and they’re designed that way… that is, until “The Get Down.”

Netflix, the world's leading Internet TV network, today announced premiere dates for several upcoming comedy series and kids series, the renewal of its acclaimed drama Marvel's Jessica Jones and casting on the highly-anticipated series Black Mirror. British star Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Beyond the Lights, Concussion and Doctor Who) and Canada's Mackenzie Davis (The F Word, Halt & Catch Fire and The Martian) have been cast in lead roles in one of the episodes of the Netflix original series Black Mirror. Jon Cor ("Being Human") has been cast as weapons trainer Hodge Starkweather in the upcoming ABC Family series "Shadowhunters" based on Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments" books. Cor's role is a recurring guest star.
