Holger E. Metzger

Holger E. Metzger was born in Germany, obtained a BA in Chinese and Law from London University and an MFA in Film & TV from AAU, San Fransisco. He has been running his own insights & brand communication agency in Shanghai since 1998, and added the creative division Chromatics Entertainment in 2014 when he started writing and producing films, web-series and documentaries for global clients operating in China. His 2014 Chinese-language web series 'Men, Impossible', on the phenomenon of so-called 'left-over women' in China, became an instant hit on the leading Chinese streaming platform iQiyi.com. Writing with native fluency in Chinese, English and German, he loves creating unique stories with cross-cultural and cross-trend elements, in all genres. Since 2021, Holger operates from his base in southern German Black Forest, where he now runs Chromatics Entertainment to produce, direct and edit various music videos, narrative films, web-series and documentaries, and other commercial and cultural projects.
