Now, listen… I’m very forgiving when it comes to horror as a genre of film. I’m open-minded, especially when it comes to the low-budget end of things, and while I’ve seen some unforgivable dross over the years, I’ve also been witness to some low-budget diamonds that managed to make something extremely entertaining with a very small, or even… at times, non-existent budget. Tooth Fairy (previously called Toof), is a low-budget horror film that introduces us to the legend of an evil tooth fairy whom rips out teeth. The folks at Proportion Productions are back with Another genre film, The Final Scream – headlined, once again, by actress Kate Lister. This time round Scott Jeffrey, co-writer of Mummy Reborn, steps behind the camera for his second feature which tells the story of Kia (Lister), an actress recently dumped by her agent for being too old, who is invited to a final re-call for a role in a horror film, also called The Final Scream. Of course not all is as it seems and the casting call is much more than just another screen test; and her director Tim (Marc Ozall) has an “interesting” way of getting the emotional range he requires from his cast… and her audition workshop that weekend, filmed as...

We’ve covered quite a few films from UK production outfit Proportion Productions, who have become almost factory-like in their film output in recent years, with films like the Unhinged remake, Fox Trap, House on Elm Lake, Darker Shade of Elise, Mother Krampus, Suicide Club, Curse of the Scarecrow and The Bad Nun to name a few… Pet Graveyard is the latest film in their ouevre and no, before you ask, this is Not a riff on Pet Sematary.
Going back to the title for a minute, it seems such a shame that the companies recent output has been lumbered with these “mockbuster”-like titles and marketing (I’m looking at you Mother Krampus and The Bad...

Here's the trailer for "Mother Krampus", set for Blu-ray release in November. The movie, directed by James Klass, is actually based on the legend of an entirely different Christmas demon, that of Frau Perchta, a witch that comes to take children on each of the 12 days of Christmas. Claire-Maria Fox, Faye Goodwin, Tony Manders, Michelle Archer, Tara MacGowran, Dottie James, Oliver Ebsworth and Sian Crisp are starring. "Mother Krampus" heads home on November 7.Based on the myth of Frau Perchta, a witch that comes on the 12 days of Christmas taking children each night....
