It’s Telugu debut time for Sparsh Shrivastava ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Sparsh Shrivastava is the new heartthrob of Bollywood after he featured in the Oscar-nominated film Laapata Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan. He debuted with a television show as Kundan in Balika Vadhu and was also seen in Shake It Up when he was just 11 years old.

The young actor became a digital star after his web series Jamtara and Ae Watan Mere Watan were both Ott hits. With much appreciation pouring towards him, audiences are eager to know more about his next feature film; the buzz is that he will make his Telugu debut.

Sparsh is all set to play a crucial role in Naga Chaitanya’s NC24, starring him in the lead role. The film is said to be directed by Virupaksha fame director Karthik Varma Dandu and produced by Bapineedu under the banner Svcc.

The Telugu movie ‘Virupaksha’, which stars Sai Dharam Tej and Samyukta Menon, is set to have a theatrical release in Hindi circuits on Friday, May 5.

Looking at the positive response to the film in the Telugu-speaking states, the makers have decided to roll out the Hindi version as well.

Directed by Karthik Varma Dandu, ‘Virpaksha’ is a mystery horror film. ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ helmer Sukumar, who is now busy with the production of the Allu Arjun-starrer sequel, has penned the film’s screenplay.

‘Virupaksha’ collected close to Rs 70 crore in the Telugu-speaking states. It collected Rs 62.5 crore in its first seven days, according to trade expert Ramesh Bala. The film has been produced by Bvsn Prasad and Manish Shah.

The Telugu film had its theatrical release on April 21. The digital and satellite rights of the film have been acquired by Netflix and Star Maa, respectively.

Netflix revealed the titles on Jan. 14, the day celebrated in many parts of India as the Sankranti or Pongal harvest festival, which is also a period when big ticket films release. Several of the titles will also be made available on the service in the Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada languages.
