Bravery isn't an uncommon trait in Solo Leveling characters. Most of these characters are placed in frightful situations often, but they still stand up to them, anyway. Despite the danger, they keep engaging with risks because the rewards may be worth it, and it's something they have to do. As such, picking out who the bravest characters in the series can be very difficult. There isn't a character who doesn't face some sort of trouble that plagues them. Still, some of these characters stand in defiance of greater odds than others.
Few S-rank hunters are on this list. While they do brave actions and put themselves in danger, S-ranks are better equipped for it than almost any other character. These hunters have well-earned confidence in themselves. The anime has yet to put most S-rank hunters when they can't be sure of themselves. The Jeju Island flashbacks do hint at the...

The following contains spoilers for Solo Leveling Episode 9, "You've Been Hiding Your Skills," streaming now on Crunchyroll.
Through its countless bloody encounters, Solo Leveling has shown how dangerous each dungeon can be for Hunters. But if anything, the world outside is just as treacherous. People can hide their true selves behind the disguise of a functional member of society. Somehow, these dungeons remove these charades and bring out the inherent ugliness. Jin-woo Sung has experienced this twice now, once inside the Cartenon Temple and the other time while dealing with the Lizards. These fateful encounters continue as he now has to deal with a killer who is cut from the same cloth as he is.

The following contains spoilers for Solo Leveling Episode 8, "This Is Frustrating."
It was not too long ago when Solo Leveling's infamous Double Dungeon incident turned the lives of many survivors upside down, leaving them with deep-seated regret and trauma. Everyone felt like they lost a part of themselves behind the doors of the Cartenon Temple. This included Jin-woo Sung, who unexpectedly came out with a second wind. Neither team leader Chi-yul Song nor B-rank healer Joo-hee Lee or the others stepped into another dungeon, leaving them to contemplate their life's heading The anime is now at a juncture where the old characters are up for a much-anticipated reunion. Only time will tell whether it will be as disastrous as the last time they were in the same room together or not.
Directed by Hiromu Oshiro and scripted by Shunsuke Nakashige, Solo Leveling Episode 8, "This Is Frustrating," comes after a week-long hiatus.

The following contains spoilers for Solo Leveling Episode 4, now streaming on Crunchyroll.
When Solo Leveling's Jin-woo Sung takes his chance to power up from a game system -- one somehow synchronously connected to both his body and mind -- he has an important choice to make. He can either shiver in fright, praying to live as he did in the Cartenon Temple, or fight back and give his all to rise up in rank. Episode 4 is when viewers finally see Jin-woo push forward.
A-1 Pictures brings Chugong's fan-favorite manhwa, visually elevated by Redice's Dubu, to the anime medium. Noboru Kimura -- the writer of the more introspective Solo Leveling Episode 3 -- returns, giving the directorial reins to Toru Hamazaki. Rina Honnizumi and Eiji Hanawa appear in cameo roles as Joo-hee Lee and Chi-yul Song, respectively. But it is Taito Ban as Jin-woo Sung whose voice echoes the...

The following contains spoilers from Solo Leveling Episode 3, now streaming on Crunchyroll.
Fction has always treated reincarnation and resurrection as a second chance for a hero to come back stronger than before. It is thus unsurprising that Jin-woo's death in the second episode of Solo Leveling is not the end of his journey but the start of a new life where he now has the power to level up to the challenges he faces.
Directed by Takayuki Kikuchi under showrunner Shunsuke Nakashige with a script from Shingo Irie, Solo Leveling's third episode unlocks a whole new world to Jin-woo Sung. A-1 Pictures continues animating the series, taking inspiration from Chugong's story and Dubu's artwork to bring the fan-favorite manhwa over to the domain of anime. The episode features the voice acting of Taito Ban in the lead as Jin-woo Sung, Haruna Mikawa as Jin-ah Sung, Makoto Furukawa as...

While the war for equality wages on in Solo Leveling, society still holds the strong and powerful in high regard, sometimes looking up to them as leaders. But in the natural world, where survival of the fittest rules above all, mere physical strength or the position of one's station in life does not matter. What matters is using one's wit, composure, and compassion to shepherd the wayward out of danger and into the light. In Solo Leveling, where hunters get a preset rank that not only follows them for life but also dictates the kind of gear and rewards they will get, the strong prevail as champions. Yet, sometimes, the supposedly weak can be as much a hero as them if not better.
The second episode of Solo Leveling drives that point home with zero nuance, showing that real strength comes from within, not from someone's rank. A-1 Pictures continues...
