‘Aew: Rampage’ Review (Apr 14th 2023)
Image
It’s Monday so you know what that means, it’s time for our weekly review of Aew: Rampage! This week’s show features Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross on commentary. Now let’s get to the review…

Match #1: Iwgp Tag Team Championship – Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) def. Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta) The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Aussie Open used tandem offense on Trent, but Trent fought his way out of their grips. Chuck Taylor took to the skies, taking out Aussie Open on the outside. Best Friends got the upper hand with Trent using a cross body press for a near fall on Kyle Fletcher. The momentum was short lived as Aussie Open planted Best Friends on the ring apron and then rammed them into one another. Aussie Open gave the “United Empire” sign. Davis used a senton on Trent and...

‘Aew: Dark’ Review (Nov 15th 2022)
Image
Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which features 8 matches on the card this week (thankfully; I do love a shorter show)… On with the review!

Match #1: Sky Blue def. Paris Van Dale

My Thoughts: Paris Van Dale is back again to get squashed by a signed Aew talent! I jest but Van Dale at least got more of a chance to show off her skills in this match than against Tay Melo. Sky Blue once again delivered a solid performance and the growth in her skills is very apparent every time she wrestles. As is the case here. A solid start to the show.

My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: The Iron Savages def. Brando Lee & Lucas Chase

My Thoughts: I still can’t get behind the change to The Iron Savages… Give me Bear Country any day. It’s a shame the duo haven’t hit the highs they had before injury,...

‘Aew: Dark’ Review (May 10th 2022)
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew: Dark which comes from Aew Universal and features 11 matches this week. Once again we’ve got Taz and Excalibur on commentary… Let’s get into the review!

Match #1: Jay Lethal def. Jake Something

My Thoughts: It’s Jay Lethal. You should know my thoughts on him by now. As for his opponent, Jake Something was great in Impact so I had hoped he wouldn’t get jobbed out like this, even more so to someone like Jay Lethal. At least Jake was allowed to get some offence in and not just roll over like you’d expect Lethal to want his opponents to. And the post-match beatdown was unnecessary Imho.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Alex Reynolds def. Jake Manning

My Thoughts: Man-Scout Jake Manning made some impact in this one, even though the outcome was never ever in doubt.

‘Aew: Dark’ Review (Apr 20th 2021)
Image
A lovely, brief, short, swift 88 minute episode of Aew: Dark this week… Yes! Let’s repeat that brevity for this review and get right into it.

Match #1: Joey Janela def. Will Allday

My Thoughts: Well I’ll be damned… Will Allday looked great in this match, landing a fantastic, brutal-looking tope suicida on Janela and really giving Janela some stiff opposition. Literally. A great opener.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Scu def. Ryzin & John Skyler

My Thoughts: Ryzin and John Skyler are thrown together to face the veterans Scu. And you’d think that would be a bad thing for Ryzin and Skyler. It wasn’t. The duo instead made the most of their ‘TV time’ with some great team work and selling. Of course the end result was never in question which kind of ruined the fun… That’s the downside to Scu’s “if we lose...
