Gwendoline Christie Broke A Personal Rule For Severance's Season 2 Finale
Image
A surprise standout in the season 2 finale of "Severance" was Gwendoline Christie's Lorne. Introduced as a mysterious woman in charge of Lumon's oddly-placed goat farm (which sparked plenty of fan theories), Lorne turned into an unexpected ally for Mark S. (Adam Scott) here. Her standout scene is when she points a gun at the terrifying Mr. Drummond (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson), rescuing Mark S. from certain death in the process. Yes, Mr. Drummond manages to disarm her, but she still gets to beat him up shortly afterward.

The fight is raw and brutal, not unlike a certain famous fight scene Gwendoline Christie got to perform on "Game of Thrones." There, her character Brienne of Tarth finds herself in a fight to the death with Sandor "The Hound" Clegane, and Brienne just barely manages to pull out a win. Just as Lorne loses her gun and has to fight with her hands,...

House of David Episode 6 Introduces Gods Monsters to the Battlefield
Image
House of David will make audiences believe they live in a world of gods and monsters, that angels and abominations walk among us, and that our ancestors fell to Earth from a heavenly plain, creating giants in the heat of unholy union. As a way into Season 1, Episode 6, “Giants Awakened,” there is a certain majesty to it. Flashbacks are rarely that ornate, but this biblical epic is cut from a different cloth. It comes with authority from on high, sanctioned by scripture, and wielding the word of God like a weapon against anyone who wishes to argue.

House of David has been building up to this reveal for several episodes, teasing only the briefest battle scenes before focusing elsewhere. Creator Jon Urwin knows how to lay the groundwork by weaving an intriguing story from internal politics and then throwing in a rite of passage segue to keep things interesting. Betrayal,...

The 15 Most Irredeemable Game of Thrones Villains, Ranked
Image
Throughout its eight seasons, Game Of Thrones has introduced and explored a huge array of characters, of all shapes, sizes, and moral inclinations. With its core being about war and the scramble to determine who will sit on the Iron Throne, Game Of Thrones has seen plenty of betrayals and those acting in their own best interests.

Got's main villains are generally the ones that ignite the fires of vengeance within the heroes and instigate the various conflicts throughout the series. Some villains are given redemption arcs with serious room for character growth, like Jaime Lannister and the Hound. Other characters show no remorse for their despicable actions and are completely irredeemable right up until their deaths.

Alternate ‘Game of Thrones’ Storyline Where Sansa Kills Joffrey in a Murder-Suicide Incident Will Give You Chills
Image
Joffrey Baratheon was a monster in royal clothing, and every Game of Thrones fan has, at some point, fantasized about his untimely demise. While his eventual poisoning in A Storm of Swords was immensely satisfying, what if Sansa Stark had taken matters into her own hands much earlier?

Imagine if, she had actually done it, launching him into the abyss, dragging herself down with him in a shocking murder-suicide. The ripple effects of such a bold act would have been staggering. Let’s explore how Westeros might have changed if the Mad Boy King never made it past the first book.

10 Major Clues That Foreshadowed the Red Wedding in Game of Thrones, Ranked
Image
George R.R. Martin is famous for planting clues many chapters before an event takes place. Details of the Red Wedding, one of the most horrific events in Game of Thrones, had been foreshadowed many times before it eventually happened in the books. While there's not a lot of foreshadowing going on in the show, book readers had the joy of spotting sneaky details that would give out the infamous massacre.

In retrospect, the clues couldn't have been more obvious. There are lines in the books that explicitly spill the entire scene of the Red Wedding chapters before it happens. Even moments prior to the actual killings are full of suspense and alarming signs.

Transformers: The Strongest Autobots, Ranked
Image
The Decepticons are easily one of the biggest, baddest armies of bad guys in all fiction, let alone the Transformers franchise. Usually transforming into massive weapons of war and armed to the spark with similar gadgetry, these villainous machines are known for blowing away anything that tries to stop them from achieving their goals of complete domination of the universe. Fortunately, standing in their path are the Autobots, the other side of the Cybertronian coin. Though these robots typically aren't designed for military pursuits, their courage and heroism allow them to take down even the toughest of Decepticon threats.

The Autobots consist more of scientists, former police officers and security service members than military operatives like the Decepticons. Despite this seeming handicap, they still have some of the best ‘bots on Cybertron. These include faithful couriers such as Bumblebee or Autobot leader Optimus Prime himself. While not all of these Autobots are particularly powerful,...

Game Of Thrones: Aemon Targaryen's Family Tree, Explained
Image
Few things can challenge fans of George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" franchise quite like the Targaryen family tree — and for good reason. As depicted in his books and the HBO shows "Game of Thrones" and "House of the Dragon," the Targaryen clan were once sprawling and powerful. However, their penchant for incest and a civil war between the Targaryen factions led to them being almost entirely wiped out by the events of "Game of Thrones." While there are enough fierce, dragon-riding Targaryens around in "House of the Dragon" that it's a struggle to keep our Aegons straight, there are only a couple of Targaryens left two centuries later when Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) hatches three dragon eggs and brings dragons back for the first time since the civil war.

There's one Targaryen who got to see not only the fall of the Targaryen dynasty...

Best Game of Thrones Fighters
Image
Fight scenes are a core component of medieval and fantasy series, so it's a given that the wildly popular Game of Thrones has ferociously skilled warriors like the Hound and Brienne of Tarth to enhance the excitement of each episode. The most talented fighters in Westeros each come from different backgrounds, possess unique fighting styles, and have varying ideologies that push them forward.

While there are many great combatants throughout the world of Game of Thrones, a handful surpass the rest due to a combination of factors. Winning duels against formidable adversaries, the ability to defeat multiple opponents at once, and the renown they earn across the land all contribute to the making of a legendary fighter.

I'll Never Forgive Game Of Thrones For Changing 1 Of The Books' Best Scenes
Image
The first four seasons of Game of Thrones adapt George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire books pretty faithfully, but I'll never forgive season 4 for changing one of the best moments from A Storm of Swords. There's a lot to cover in Game of Thrones season 4, with the Purple Wedding, Tyrion's trials, the Battle for the Wall, and Tywin Lannister's death being just a few of the major developments. With so much happening in A Storm of Swords, it's not entirely shocking that the show chose to change or cut a few elements of the source material.

However, I wish Game of Thrones had stuck with the book's ending scene, as it's one of the best moments of the entire Song of Ice and Fire series. It's a huge part of the reason A Storm of Swords is my favorite Asoiaf book, and it sets the stage for...

“I thought Arya would kill…”: Sophie Turner Wanted Maisie Williams To Kill One of the Most Hated Game of Thrones Characters, It Never Happened
Image
Fans were deeply disappointed with how things turned out at the end of Game of Thrones, and they are not alone – even Sophie Turner had the same sentiment, especially when it came to Arya Stark’s storyline. Portraying the Lady of Winterfell, Sansa Stark, Turner believes the season finale could have been more satisfying.

Credits: Sophie Turner in Game of Thrones / HBO

We know the major deaths that happened in the final season and Cersei Lannister’s was the most underwhelming. For years, fans have speculated how she would meet her end, and what happened in the show was clearly not on anyone’s list.

Lena Headey’s Cersei Lannister was a popular fan-favorite character despite her wicked role in Game of Thrones. Everything she and her family did to the Starks deserved a fitting punishment.

Game of Thrones: Without George R.R. Martin, Rory McCann Would Not Have Been Able to Turn Into The Hound
Image
Rory McCann left his mark in people’s hearts with his dynamic performance in Game of Thrones. Adapted from George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, Game of Thrones quickly became one of the biggest shows in TV history. Not only that, the show also gave the audiences some of the most iconic characters ever.

Fans have spent years hating or loving a character only for the story to switch the narrative entirely with delicate precision to not take away either their good or bad parts. Such a character was Rory McCann’s Sandor Clegane, aka The Hound.

Although initially introduced almost as a villain, he became a fan favorite as the story progressed over the years. However, he almost did not land the job until George R.R. Martin himself intervened for him.

10 Best Game of Thrones Episodes, Ranked
Image
Game of Thrones spanned eight seasons and 73 episodes, many of which were exceptional. For the first six seasons, the showrunners introduced an exciting, fresh structure: the penultimate episode served as the season's climax, while the finale dealt with the aftermath and set the stage for the next season.

Game of Thrones' format changed in the final two seasons as the creators condensed numerous storylines into significantly shorter episodes, but even then, it still produced some of the most watched television episodes of all time. While the penultimate episodes of the iconic fantasy series are among the series' most memorable, the best Game of Thrones episodes can be found scattered throughout the show's eight seasons.

9 of the best ships from Game of Thrones
Image
Although romance isn't generally the first thing that comes to fans' minds when thinking about Game of Thrones, it is a prominent aspect of the show. Some couples have genuine love and respect for each other, others are stuck together by outside forces, and others are wildly abusive for one or both parties. Regardless of their circumstances, fans have put a lot of effort into discussing their favorite couples, whether they ended up together or not.

What makes a good pairing? In general, it might just be that the actors would look good together, but fans usually have deeper reasoning behind the relationships they champion. For Game of Thrones in particular, the most common reasons for a ship to become popular seems to be a combination of the characters having similar ambitions and skills, the characters treating each other kindly in dark circumstances, and the belief that, together, the pair could win the Iron Throne.

5 Game of Thrones cast members we need back on our screens

Game of Thrones turned a number of actors into household names. We see the likes of Kit Harington, Sophie Turner, and Peter Dinklage everywhere. But other Game of Thrones cast members all but disappeared after their parts ended, and we need to see them more.

Some of the cast members chose to step back from acting. Others have just taken less visible roles, or maybe haven't any that are right for them. Here are five Game of Thrones cast members we would love to see back on our screens.

Kerry Ingram

Kerry Ingram stole our hearts as Shireen Baratheon. We still can’t get over the way her own father did her dirty with the human sacrifice storyline. Seeing how Ser Davos mourned her and then had to mourn her all over again when he learned the truth about how she died was heartbreaking.

Since the 1980s, Transformers has been one of the world's most popular toy franchises. As such, whenever any of these franchises are brought to life again, nostalgic fans are often found keenly looking for Easter eggs.

It's no different with Josh Cooley's Transformers One. This new animated movie retells the origin of the Autobots and Decepticons for a new generation. With that in mind, here is a comprehensive list of the references and nods made to the older iterations of Transformers.

I printed and taped Supernatural fan-edited images and memes to my school binder, wrote massive amounts of self-insert fanfiction in my notebooks, told everyone I wanted to get the anti-possession tattoo the second I turned 18 when I was in middle school. In my defense, everyones a little extra cringe in that phase of their life and I sure havent grown out of it, given that I wrote 30 fanfiction pieces for Bang Brave Bang Bravern in the last six months and proselytize to anyone who will listen about my lord and savior Hound from Transformers but hey, a little cringe is healthy. Game Of Thrones: Why Did The Mountain Change Actors? (Twice)
Image
Game of Thrones recast the character of the Mountain twice, but Hafr Jlus Bjrnsson's portrayal is the most memorable and iconic. The casting changes for the Mountain were less noticeable due to the character's limited dialogue and intimidating presence. The Mountain's storyline in the show differed from the books, but Game of Thrones still succeeded in making him one of the franchise's most memorable characters.

Despite being a character who clearly stood out, Game of Thrones recast the Mountain actor twice. The Mountain, whose real name is Gregor Clegane, appeared in all but one season of the HBO series. Game of Thrones' strongest character, Gregor Clegane received the Mountain nickname due to his intimidating size and strength. The Mountain grew into a notable character in the series thanks to his brutality and several memorable scenes. However, given his smaller role earlier in the show, fans might not have noticed...

Certain TV shows took some time to reach their highest quality, and for many, season 4 was where they peaked. Some of the best TV shows of all time were at their best in season 4, but there were many varied reasons for this. For a lot of shows, their respective writers needed to develop the characters more, which resulted in earlier seasons being less popular. TV show seasons werent always so short, but sometimes, too many episodes made storylines overly confusing or even boring.

Multiple titles in TV history found themselves peaking right in the middle of their initial runs, depending on the overall length of the TV show. The...

Cargylls vs. Cleganebowl: Which Game Of Thrones Brother Battle Is Better

The Cargyll duel in House of the Dragon is emotionally intense with more complex emotions and motivations than Cleganebowl. Cleganebowl is more epic in scale, paying off almost a decade of build-up with exceptional cinematography. Brienne of Tarth's Ancestor is the Lead of Game of Thrones Spin-Off, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms - Main Image

Game of Thrones may have ended its main series run back in 2019, but HBO is still hard at work making multiple spin-offs based in the world of Westeros. Besides House of the Dragon, an adaptation based on the novellas A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is also in the works—and what’s interesting is, the plot will focus on the ancestor of a major Thrones player.

Exploring Brienne of Tarth's Lineage

Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) is supposed to be a play on the classic knight-in-shining-armor archetype crossed with the damsel-in-distress trope. While technically Westerosi royalty, Brienne is neither conventionally damsel-like nor in distress. Instead, she is a noble knight, and a capable fighter who can even go toe-to-toe with Sandor Clegane a.k.a. The Hound.

Houston, of course, is best known for her classic hit “Don’t Leave Me This Way.” For Clock, Rita Ora got it right with Thelma Houston. Robin Thicke went with Stephanie Mills. Ken Jeong said it was Janet Jackson. Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg thought it was Roberta Flack.

Clock wound up in third place for the season, after the three semi-finalists performed one more time in a battle royale, all performing their versions of “A Moment Like This,” by Kelly Clarkson. With Clock out, Gumball and Goldfish move on to next week’s finals.

This 'Game of Thrones' Character Became a Better Man Than Anyone Expected
Image
Because of Rory McCann’s incredible performance as Sandor Clegane, The Hound, in Game of Thrones, he left the audience heartbroken and stunned after his character’s unforgettable death in the final season. Introduced as a killer, a villain, and the King’s right-hand man, The Hound's astonishing transformation into a compassionate man makes him one of the most compelling characters with one of the best redemption arcs in the show that none of us expected. Throughout the series, the Hound is set on seeking revenge on his brother, the Mountain (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson), for disfiguring him as a child, but in the end, his arc becomes more about protecting the weak than getting even. By continuously protecting the Stark girls, abandoning the corrupt crown, and saving an innocent man from his brother's wrath, the Hound proves time and time again that he has a huge heart and is one...

Was the Autobot Ironhide Inspired By a TV Show?
Image
The gruffest and toughest Transformer, Ironhide, is one of the most iconic and impressive Autobots in the franchise. Bob Budiasnky was the writer and editor for the Marvel Comics Transformers series and played a crucial role in the franchise's early development, having the responsibility of naming many of the characters. Budiansky drew inspiration from the TV show Ironside, a police procedural drama featuring the strong and unwavering Chief Ironside, who provided a template for the tough and no-nonsense demeanor of Ironhide.

Ironhide, an Autobot in the Transformers franchise, has become synonymous with toughness and resilience. The Top 10 Best Redemption Arcs in Game of Thrones
Image
There are few true heroes in Game of Thrones. Each person has their own perspective, which they perceive as the right one, and only the person who sits on the throne has the power to turn their personal opinion into the objective ethical truth of the land. Every character plays the game, and none are immune to the corruption it breeds within them. However, some are able to muster up the inner strength to rise above their circumstances to make a positive change.

Redemption in GoT is about more than just making up for one's past mistakes. Sometimes, it can simply be about restoring something that was once lost due to an evil done to the person. Often, it is this latter form of redemption that the Starks seek. For others, like the Lannisters, redemption is about a person making things right again, regardless of whether the evil was done...

‘Game of Thrones’ Showrunners Reveal One Thing They’d Change About the Show
Image
There is one thing the Game of Thrones showrunners admit they wish they’d done differently.

David Benioff and Dan Weiss sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss their upcoming Netflix sci-fi drama 3 Body Problem for a recent cover story. While that article included the duo’s reaction to the season eight backlash and a couple other bits of Thrones news, we also pressed the Emmy-winning writer producers on whether there was anything they would admit to wishing they could change about the show.

As the cover story notes, in general, they staunchly avoid reflecting on the series — they feel it wouldn’t benefit themselves, HBO or the thousands of people who worked on Thrones to criticize anything about it.

But, they gave up something small that wasn’t included in the cover story — and it’s almost certainly nothing you’re expecting.

Remember Mord the Jailer? He was...

Every Game Of Thrones Character Killed Too Soon
Image
Game of Thrones shocked audiences by killing off main characters early, changing the direction of the story and intensifying conflicts. Some deaths, like Catelyn Stark's and Syrio Forel's, happened too soon, depriving the show of potential storylines and character development. The premature deaths of characters like Renly Baratheon and Oberyn Martell prevented them from fulfilling their potential and offering fresh perspectives on the plot.

Game of Thrones’ brutality in killing off its main characters showed no character was safe no matter how fundamental they were, but the death of some happened so early that it felt too soon both to audiences and for the characters’ stories. Whether they shined for their brutality or happened in a fight, all these deaths involved characters that could have easily played a bigger role in Game of Thrones, especially considering some of the revelations and developments of the fantasy drama’s later seasons. Game of Thrones...

Why Arya Didn't Kill The Hound In Game Of Thrones Season 4
Image
Arya's decision to spare the Hound's life in Game of Thrones season 4 is oartly driven by her refusal to show him mercy and her belief that he doesn't deserve it. Despite her resentment towards him, Arya forms a bond with the Hound during their travels, making her decision to leave him alive a conflicted one. The relationship between Arya and the Hound is one of the best character pairings in Game of Thrones, showcasing the series' ability to create compelling relationships between unlikely characters.

Arya Stark and Sandor Clegane are one of the best duos from Game of Thrones, but to say their relationship is complicated is an understatement — and that contributes to why Arya doesn't kill the Hound in season 4. Game of Thrones seasons 3 and 4 find the pair traveling north together, with the Hound hoping to collect a reward for returning Arya to her family. She's less than thrilled about the arrangement,...
