In 1990, if you had told five year-old Chicago native Nicholas James Gramenos that he was going to work a few unsteady jobs in Los Angeles in the future, he probably would have run away screaming because you're a stranger and shouldn't be talking to five-year old kids. Nonetheless, this fairly sensitive, deeply disobedient kid who was born in 1985 in Chicago, Illinois, was destined to be overlooked for his skills as a writer and director and instead put to work in the story editing department for Discovery Channel's failure of a show "Chrome Underground."
Nick is the youngest ( among four children ) of divorced parents, Becky Karacostas, a Greek history major, and Judge Jim Gramenos, a judge. (duh.) His parents were both from Detroit, Michigan, and he is of one-hundred percent Greek ancestry. Young Nicholas spent his boyhood always in Robin pajamas (including a cape,) and by the time he was 15 he still wasn't allowed to legally operate a motor vehicle in the U.S or Canada. He finally settled in Las Vegas with his mother and her new husband. While in high school, he developed an interest in acting and abandoned his plans of becoming an insurance agent, graduated from UNLV with a bachelor's degree in psychology, and at age twenty-something he headed for Los Angeles for a possible writing career. The next 5 years of his life are the stuff of boring water-cooler conversations. He made his writing debut with a "Story" credit in Untitled Dirt Track (2017) and from the outset exhibited an undeniable ability to be ignored by his peers.
With handsome movie star looks and a slightly unnerving smile, he vowed to push harder to get his ideas through to anyone who would listen. Hello? Is there anyone there?
