Twd: Daryl Dixon Showrunner Reveals if Carol Romance Will Finally Happen in the Spinoff
Image
With some sections of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon fandom shipping two Twd franchise protagonists, its showrunner, David Zabel, has issued his stance on the potential romantic relationship between Daryl and Carol. The show's upcoming second season premieres next month.

In an interview with SFX magazine via GamesRadar, Zabel revealed he and his writers were not keen to explore a romantic relationship between Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride's characters. "The obvious thing to do, and the easier thing to do, would be, 'Okay, now they're falling in love, and they're a couple.' But I always felt like that would be a mistake because it would feel like you were going into the TV book of tricks," he explained. "To me, there was never a question that [their connection] was something other than what it is, and what it seems to want to be, and why it works so well.
