Ashwani Kumar
Ashwani Kumar is a screenplay and dialogue writer working mainly for the Indian television sitcoms.

An avid reader of Hindi and world literature, he is a post-graduate in Indian Theatre Studies from Panjab University, Chandigarh. After passing out from Panjab University, he became a part of the repertoire of Sriram Centre For Culture and Arts in Delhi for one year. After being a part of theatre productions at the Sriram Centre repertoire, a couple of them with the celebrated thespians like Piyush Mishra and Suresh Sharma, he headed for Mumbai in the year 1998 and has been a part of the cinema world since then.

Before turning to professional writing for films and television, he had been an actor and a part of the direction team for a couple of films. He was an assistant director to Madhur Bhandarkar for film 'Jail' in which he did a small act also. But after having written the dialogue as a co-writer along with Pankaj Advani for the film 'Sankat City', for which he was the Chief Assistant Director also, he turned a full-time writer for films and television.

He resides in Mumbai and has a natural flair for situational comedy.
