Mitchell graduated from the University of the Arts London with First Class Honours in 2015, and their thesis film "G O'Clock" premiered at the BFI Flare FIlm Festival 2016. Their first independently produced film "The Suit Weareth the Man" premiered at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2020. Mitchell's films have screened at Academy Award and BAFTA accredited film festivals including OutFest, Iris Prize LGBT+ Film Festival, Bolton International and Cheries-Cheris. The Suit Weareth the Man went on to win several awards, including Best Cinematography at the New York Cinematography Awards 2020 and Terror in the Bay Film Festival 2021, Best LGBTQ+ Short Film at the Venice FIlm Awards 2020 and the Florence Film Awards 2020, Best international Film at the Melbourne Overlooked Film Festival 2021, and Best Original Screenplay at Terror in the Bay Film Festival 2021.
Mitchell is also an emerging screen actor, appearing on the BBC's RuPaul's Drag Race UK S1 (2019), short film "Wendy and Vee" (2022), and the groundbreaking Australian LGBTQ+ mini series In Our Blood (2023).
