Five long years after Vivziepop’s 2019 release of the Hazbin Hotel YouTube pilot “That’s Entertainment!”, the animated musical series returned for its first season on Amazon Prime. However, the highly-anticipated release of Hazbin Hotel season 1 brought with it a major change that was met with criticism from the series’ cult following.
Between the 2019 release of the YouTube pilot and the 2024 release of season 1 via Amazon Prime and A24, Vivziepop re-auditioned each major role, leading to a group recasting of Hazbin Hotel. This new Hazbin Hotel season 1 cast was met with a good deal of pushback from Hellaverse fans who had been following the project since its Patreon-funded inception, and vague communication from the show creator led to speculation about the reasons behind this drastic change. However, the fact that Hazbin Hotel season 1 set a Prime Video streaming record seems to indicate that the change may have been for the better.

Indie animation studio Glitch Productions debuted the pilot episode of their kooky new project, The Amazing Digital Circus, on YouTube last year, asking viewers to help them greenlight a full season by purchasing merchandise and subscribing to their channel. Now, after millions of likes, views, and subscribers, The Amazing Digital Circus will be available to stream on Netflix while continuing to premiere new episodes on Glitch Productions' YouTube channel.
With only two available episodes so far, The Amazing Digital Circus has nevertheless become an Internet phenomenon. Earning an 8.1/10 on IMDb and hundreds of positive reviews, it's no wonder that the show was picked up by Netflix, who plans to release the third episode on October 4th with subsequent episodes to follow. However, Glitch Productions assured fans via their X account that the Netflix deal only regards licensing rights, allowing Glitch Productions to continue independently funding the show and making all executive and creative decisions.

Less than a year ago, Glitch Productions uploaded the pilot episode of “The Amazing Digital Circus” to YouTube with a plea to help them fund a full season. Now, 346 million views later, “The Amazing Digital Circus” is coming to Netflix while continuing to premiere new episodes on YouTube.
A deceptively cheery-looking animated series about life under the big top, the Australian animated series is a delightfully dark comedy about, as Glitch Productions wrote on its website, “A woman gets trapped in a crazy virtual world along with five other humans and are now subject to the whims of wacky AI and their own personal traumas.” Or, put another way, “What if it was ‘Toy Story,’ but everyone was a jerk?”
Created and directed by Gooseworx (also a composer on “Hazbin Hotel”) and produced by Glitch Productions, “The Amazing Digital Circus” will premiere Episodes 1–3 on Netflix October 4, the same day the third episode premieres on YouTube.

Lackadaisy, the beloved webcomic by Tracy Butler, is no stranger to captivating its vast reader base with its distinctive art style and engrossing narrative. However, the latest buzz isn't only about the webcomic. The team behind Lackadaisy recently unveiled an emotionally-charged teaser trailer for the upcoming animated series, showcasing protagonist Rocky's somber journey to return to a presumed family home, only to find it deserted. The trailer's evocative mood isn't all gloom, though, as it concludes with a heartwarming scene of Rocky playing the violin, and a glimpse of characters Mitzi and Atlas May.
The teaser accomplishes two things: sparking interest among fans and announcing the beginning of a crowdfunding initiative. This move, as strategic as it is engaging, has turned heads and opened wallets. By providing a direct link to Lackadaisy's BackerKit campaign in the video description, the creators have seamlessly bridged the emotional connection of the trailer to...

The trailer does end on a hopeful note, with Rocky playing his violin and encountering Mitzi and Atlas May.
