According to the Season 2 plot synopsis, the show will take place years later, as Nam On-jo (Park Ji-hu) is now a university student in Seoul, South Korea, trying to move on from the trauma she faced during the outbreak at Hyosan High. Unfortunately, a new wave of infection hits the major city, and she has to fight for survival once again, but this time she's on her own.

Released in 2022, All of Us Are Dead quickly became one of the hottest horror shows on Netflix, amassing 474.26 million hours viewed in its first 30 days. Although Cheong-sans death was as definitive as it can get he fell from a rooftop right before the entire area was bombarded his return does not sound too far-fetched. Firstly, Cheong-sans body was never actually shown. Secondly, the character is just too important not to be included in the second season of the Netflix K-drama. Lastly, Cheong-sans actor Yoon Chan-young was one of the cast members featured in the season 2 announcement video.
