Biography

    • Born and raised in Rome, Italy with a dual USA-Italian citizenship, Samuel was classically trained at the National Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome, Italy, UCLA's MFA program and the British American Drama Academy at Oxford University. Samuel is a bilingual actor who's played roles in Shakespeare and Chekhov plays as well as other American and European playwrights in theaters in Rome, London, Budapest, Vienna, Tel Aviv, New York, Venice and Los Angeles.

On the stage Samuel has been part of productions with or directed by Placido Domingo, Ellen Lauren(Citi Company), Gabriele Lavia(Deep Red), Fabrizio Gifuni(The Best Youth), Massimiliano Civica(Ubu Prize winner), Antonio Latella(Ubu Prize winner) and many more. In front of the camera he's worked with Francis Ford Coppola, Andy Hines, Giuseppe Piccioni and UCLA's original TV series "Sanity," nominated for a Student Emmy in 2017. During his time at UCLA he was awarded the Laura Pels Fellowship in Acting and the TFT Acting Fellowship. Acting teachers include Jeff Seymour, Peter Francis James(Yale); John Barton(RSC). Joeseph Mydell(RSC), Jack Stelhin(Julliard), Julian Glover(RSC), John Tucker(RADA), Fiona Shaw, Jean Louis Rodrigue(UCLA), Lucian Msamati, Leo Wringer(Guildhall), Mick Barnfather(Complicitè) and Christian Burgess(Guildhall).

Recently Samuel has worked with director David Wilson playing a quirky side kick named Kent in the short film "The Reaper", he played a blue-collar ingenue in Cecilia Albertini's "Allegra's Body Shop" which won Best Comedy Short at the Austin Film Fest and had a blast being the sweet Italian boy next door in the new Rosetta Stone videos.

A world traveler, Samuel has worked with the Golem Theater of Budapest, developing a show and performing it from city to city, from Budapest to Vienna. His first passion was the piano, so don't be shy and ask him to play some Chopin or Bach. He's an AS Roma and soccer fanatic, he's a skilled Italian "Football" player, basketball player and a remarkable skier. Samuel is also a skilled barista and coffee connoisseur, so latte art is a fun and beautiful skill he's mastered. Although fluent in Italian and English, he can survive without them in countries where they speak Hebrew or Spanish. Samuel is also trained in stage combat and contact improvisation.
