Robin Capehart's career in the entertainment industry began when his daughter, Emily, was an aspiring actress, first in regional theater, and later with small roles in film and television in Los Angeles. As Emily grew older, she increasingly received audition requests for parts considered inappropriate. In response, we decided to produce our own value-based films that would provide families with a high-quality entertainment opportunity.

In 2011, Capehart organized "Flyover Films" and served as executive producer on its first film, "The Pledge," a patriotic movie that was featured at the GI Film Festival in Washington, DC. The film starred veteran actor Terry Kiser ("Weekend at Bernie's") and was the first film for Nickelodeon star Barrett Carnahan ("The Thundermans", "Drop Dead Diva"). The film had a six-week run in a regional theater chain before moving to national DVD distribution.

In 2013, Capehart served as executive producer on Flyover Film's second project, "A Christmas Tree Miracle," starred Kevin Sizemore ("Woodlawn", "Resurrection", "Under the Dome") and, featured Terry Kiser and Jill Whelan ("The Love Boat"). Since 2014, the Up TV television network has featured the movie as its lead off film during the Christmas season.

In 2015, Capehart formed Brentwood Avenue Entertainment to develop and produce films.

In 2016, Capehart served as associate producer for the film "Believe." Capehart facilitated the exhibition of the film to over 700 theaters through Smith Global Media, an emerging leader in the distribution of low budget, high quality faith and family friendly films.

Capehart also appeared as a sports reporter in the movie, "We Are Marshall."

Originally from Moundsville, Marshall County, Capehart graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Virginia University in 1975 where he is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. In 1978, he received his law degree from WVU and his Masters of Law in Taxation Degree from Georgetown University. During his legal career, Capehart served as a assistant prosecuting attorney, administrative law judge, tax lawyer, Secretary of Tax and Revenue for the State of West Virginia, and chief counsel to the West Virginia Senate's Committee on Finance.

Capehart has delivered over 600 speeches and presentations to local, state, national and international organizations including the Federation of Tax Administrators, the National Tax Association and the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. He has authored a number of articles, which have appeared in such publications as the West Virginia Law Review, State Tax Notes, the Journal of State Taxation and the National Tax Journal.

Capehart's academic career has included serving as an adjunct professor at West Virginia Northern Community College, a tenured associate professor and director of tax studies at Marshall University, President of West Liberty University and an educational consultant for Georgetown Solutions. He has also served as the Senior Resident Scholar at the Public Policy Foundation of West Virginia. He was also a Fulbright Scholar in 2006.

From 2007 through 2010, he has also hosted "At Issue," a local public affairs television show.

In November 2007, Capehart was named the 2007 Outstanding Alumnus of the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University. In September 2008, Capehart was inducted into the John Marshall High School Hall of Fame.

Capehart has authored two books: "Real Tax Reform" (2008); and "Entrepreneurialship Education" (2010).

Capehart lives in Moundsville, WV. His daughter, Emily, is a film studies graduate from Pepperdine University in California and attends graduate school in directing at Chapman University, Orange, California.
