Matthijs is the head of development at Lemming Film, one of the leading film and television production companies in The Netherlands. He coordinates the development of feature films and television series, as well as contributes to various minority co-productions.
After attaining an MA in Film Studies at the University of Amsterdam, Matthijs worked at various film festivals, such as the International Film Festival Rotterdam. He quickly moved on to story editing, which he practiced for four years at the Dutch public broadcaster NTR.
Matthijs is a TorinoFilmLab ScriptLab and LIM Development Angel alumnus.
