Escape The Field Ending Explained
Image
The monsters in Escape The Field were actually humans infected by a serum, losing their humanity entirely. The puzzle in Escape The Field was central to the experiment, revealing traits the researchers were studying in the subjects. Escape The Field serves as a commentary on government secrecy and disturbing experiments, perpetuating a never-ending cycle of pain.

Although it offered an interesting premise, the Escape The Field ending created a lot of confusion as many plot points were left open-ended. Directed by Emerson Moore, Escape The Field follows six strangers who wake up in a cornfield with no memory of how they got there. Similar to the plot in Escape Room and Saw, each individual is forced to participate in a series of challenges and solve several puzzles if they want to escape. However, the group soon discover that something sinister is lurking in the field when several characters end up...

‘Escape the Field’ Review

Stars: Jordan Claire Robbins, Theo Rossi, Shane West, Julian Feder, Niki Kerro, Elena Juatco, Tahirah Sharif | Written by Emerson Moore, Sean Wathen, Joshua Dobkin | Directed by Emerson Moore

A group of strangers wake up somewhere with no idea of where they are, how they got there, or why they’re there. Sound familiar? That’s the starting point of Escape the Field, a new thriller from first-time feature director Emerson Moore and his co-writers Sean Wathen and Joshua Dobkin.

Sam wakes up, still in her scrubs, in a cornfield with a revolver and one bullet beside her. While she’s trying to figure out how she got there, or where “there” is, Tyler stumbles across her. They in turn run into other survivors, Ryan, Ethan, Rachel, and Denise. Eventually, they’re joined by Cameron.

It’s all very familiar territory, but Moore works it well. The cornfield is a wonderfully...

Six strangers wake up in a cornfield with no idea how they got there. Each has been supplied with a single item, marked with a distinctive symbol. They have no food or water, and something is hunting them. It’s one of those high concept scenarios which filmmakers pull out when they can’t be bothered with preamble and want to get straight into the action. The format is very hit and miss, but here, if one overlooks the unlikeliness of the set-up (for which we never are given a truly satisfactory explanation), there’s a lot to enjoy. Director/co-writer Emerson Moore has crafted a superior example of its type thanks to decent character work, puzzles which actually present a challenge, and a capable lead.

This latter is Jordan Claire Robbins, best known for her recurring role in The Umbrella Academy, who plays Sam. Being white, blond and one of just three women,...

Another Endless Cornfield Horror Thriller - 'Escape the Field' Trailer
Theo Rossi, Shane West, Tahirah Sharif, and Jordan Claire Robbins in Escape the Field (2022)
"There is no way out." Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror film titled Escape the Field, marking the feature debut of writer / director Emerson Moore. It's arriving to watch in early May for those curious to find out what's going on. The fear is inescapable in this horror-thriller about six strangers who suddenly awaken in a remote, endless cornfield. Stripped of their possessions, they are left with only six items: a gun with a single bullet, matches, a lantern, a knife, a compass, a flask of water. Escape the Field is the second major "stuck in an endless field" movie, following Vincenzo Natali's In the Tall Grass in 2019. This one looks like it has a few more twists, and seems a bit more like Cube or Saw or an Escape Room than Natali's supernatural thriller. Starring Jordan Claire Robbins, Theo Rossi, Tahirah Sharif, Julian Feder,...
