Ryan McChesney grew up in Blue Springs, Missouri. He performed in several theatrical production while in college. He graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a degree in Communications and Theater. His first role was playing Dr. Einstein in the Blue Springs Community Theater Production of Arsenic and Old Lace.
After graduating college he moved to Chicago to study improv comedy at the famed Second City Improvisational theater. After he graduated from the Conservatory Program and Second City he proofread improv all over the city of Chicago including at Improv Olympic. He formed the sketch improv comedy groups Organic Monkey and HaHaMen. In 2012 he created and stared in a feature film satirical comedy "The Campaigners".
Ryan continued to perform stand and improv comedy in Chicago until 2014, when he moved back to Kansas City. While in Kansas City Ryan performed improv comedy as well and acted in short and feature films including "Steve Jobless". Ryan was involved in the local film scene creating the short film "Locked Away" a satirical spoof of the covid crisis in 2020. Ryan then went on to perform his One Man Show "Laughing at Funerals" which one the Audience Award for "A Spoken Word Show" at the Kansas City Fringe Festiva in 2021.
in 2024 Ryan moved to Branson to write and perform in the variety show "A Comedy Jamboree"
