Daisy Ridley's 51% Rotten Tomatoes Action Thriller Finds a Streaming Home This Month
Image
Earlier this year, Star Wars alum Daisy Ridley laced up her boots, loaded her guns and got to work in Martin Campbell’s high-octane flick, Cleaner. Though the movie didn’t sweep up the box office figures it was hoping for, it will have another chance to wipe the slate clean and start over again, as it has set a streaming arrival for Max on Friday, June 13. Though the movie left audiences wanting more, receiving a Rotten Tomatoes critics' approval rating of 51% and a slightly higher audience stamp of 66%, viewers could all agree on one thing — Ridley was born for a life of action. The film gives the actress her own Bruce Willis or Jason Statham-like character, and she steps up to the challenge without hesitation, making the role of the hero look like a piece of cake.

After leaving the military following a squabble with a misogynist co-worker,...

It's difficult to fit everything into just a couple of hours, but Netflix did its best. Were we satisfied with the amount of information? Of course. Here are four of the biggest things we learned.

Many assumed, based on lots of rumors, that the final season of the iconic show would be released in two parts. As it turns out, the actual number is three. On November 26, the first four episodes of the...

Mikaela Hoover
Netflix’s Tudum event brought Tony Tony Chopper trotting onto the stage in virtual form, confirming that Mikaela Hoover will voice and performance-capture the Straw Hats’ pint-size doctor when One Piece returns in 2026. A brief teaser showed the blue-nosed reindeer bounding across a Cape Town set while Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero and Taz Skylar welcomed him to the crew.

Series creator Eiichiro Oda hailed Chopper’s arrival in a handwritten note shared after the reveal, calling the character “the heart of the ship” and praising the blend of practical prosthetics and Wētā-assisted CGI that preserves his cartoonish charm. Showrunner Joe Tracz said the team settled on Hoover—best known for Guardians of the Galaxy cameos—after screen tests proved her “elastic vocal range could swing from timid to fearless in the same line.

One Piece season 2 confirmed for 2026 release (plus first look at Tony Tony Chopper)
Image
Who's ready for One Piece season 2? Netflix has just announced some really exciting news about the highly anticipated second season. We'll get to reunite with Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates crew next year! Yes, you read that right. One Piece season 2 is coming out in 2026. Netflix announced this amazing news at its live Tudum event on May 31.

We had hoped that the second season would be released this year, but after Netflix revealed its 2025 lineup and the live-action series wasn't included on the list, it pretty much solidified that the new installment would not be released in 2025. Given production wrapping up in February 2025, a 2026 release seemed more likely, and now it's officially confirmed.

Sadly, Netflix didn’t share an official release date during its Tudum event. However, if we had to make a release prediction, we believe there’s a strong chance One Piece season 2 could drop early next year,...

One Piece reveals look at fan favorite Tony Tony Chopper, played by Mikaela Hoover; S2 arrives in 2026
Hiroaki Hirata, Kazuya Nakai, Akemi Okamura, Mayumi Tanaka, and Kappei Yamaguchi in One Piece (1999)
One Piece already had a built-in fanbase via its 100+-volume, 25+-year history as a manga, so it was expected to do well when it got its inevitable live-action adaptation. And it did, topping Netflix charts and receiving strong reviews overall. With that, anticipation is high for season two of One Piece, especially now with the reveal of a new character, Tony Tony Chopper, who made his first appearance back in 2000.

In addition, we learned that the supremely talented Mikaela Hoover will portray Chopper using vocal talents and facial capture. Hoover did similar work as Floor the Rabbit in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Hoover is just the latest cast member to join the gang for season two of One Piece, which also includes Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday, Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek,...

Mikaela Hoover will play Tony Tony Chopper in One Piece season 2, coming to Netflix in 2026
Image
Earlier this week, Netflix teased the second season of One Piece, it's live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's historically successful pirate manga. This new season will introduce a bunch of popular characters. That includes Tony Tony Chopper, a talking reindeer who joins the Straw Hat pirates as the ship doctor.

Now, at their Tudum event, Netflix finally pulled the curtain on this character. Watch below:

Tony Tony Chopper is played by Mikaela Hoover, and by "played," I mean she's voice the character and provide facial capture. Hoover has a pretty long resume in TV and film, but the credit I remember her most for — and the one most relevant to her new role — is as Floor the Rabbit in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. If you've forgotten that movie, allow me to re-traumatize you: Floor was a genetically augmented Rabbit who became friends with Rocket Raccoon while they and...

‘One Piece’ Season 2 Release Window Revealed by Netflix, and Its Still Going To Be a While
Image
The signs were all there. Earlier this year, Netflix teased some of its biggest releases for 2025, and subscribers were quick to notice that One Piece was not included in the footage. Today, during the streamer's fan event Tudum in LA, it was finally confirmed: the highly anticipated Season 2 of the hit series will only become available to watch in 2026. This means that the gap between the freshman and sophomore seasons will be almost three years — a record for the franchise.

Despite the daunting confirmation, the news doesn't come as much of a surprise to those who have been paying attention. Filming of Season 2 was officially announced back in February, which means that, ever since then, One Piece has been in the lengthy process of post-production. The series is heavy on practical and special effects, and was praised for its quality — but getting to that final result takes time. Unfortunately for fans,...

But who is this adorable creature in the giant pink top hat?

A blue-nosed reindeer-boy hybrid, Chopper is as smart as he is cute. With the ability to treat various illnesses, he aims to travel the world and accomplish his dream of curing any disease — which would certainly come in handy for our Straw Hat pirates. He’s also fiercely loyal, loves compliments (but doesn’t want you to know it), and wears his heart on his sleeve. But...

Netflix Reveals New Live-Action 'One Piece' Teaser Ahead of Season 2 Debut
Image
When the first season of Netflix's live-action adaptation of One Piece was released in 2023, it received surprisingly positive reactions from old and new fans alike. The streaming service has attempted to bring popular manga and anime titles to life through live-action in the past, but none have been as highly regarded as One Piece. So, it only makes sense that the upcoming second season would be highly anticipated, especially because of the addition of two new Straw Hat crew members. To hype up the series' presence at the Tudum event, Netflix has released a special new teaser for One Piece Season 2.

The teaser, which can be viewed below, depicts the Straw Hats aboard their ship, The Going Merry. In the clip, Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) tells Nami (Emily Rudd) that the crew will be having a sleepover as a team bonding exercise. One by one, each Straw Hat enters the room,...

In a recent interview, Manganiello mentioned the production break between seasons and his upcoming return to set, hinting at a smooth continuation for the beloved series.

This confirmation from @OP_Netflix_Fan on X comes at a time when fans were unsure about the show's future, especially following the departure of co-showrunner Matt Owens earlier this year. Luffy Will Not End Up With Boa Hancock: Oda’s Hint on Luffy’s Romantic Partner in One Piece
Image
Okay, let’s get this straight from the beginning: Luffy and romance in One Piece? Not exactly a package deal. The guy is all about meat, freedom, and punching bad guys, and not exactly into those elegant candlelit dinners. But you know Oda, right? He’s sprinkled just enough hints over the years to get fans thinking: what if, actually, there is someone waiting for Luffy at the end of the Grand Line?

And while Boa Hancock’s hilarious obsession with Luffy has been a long-running gag, let’s be real, Luffy doesn’t even notice her that way. He’s immune to her beauty, ignores her flirting, and treats her like he treats everyone else: with chaotic politeness and zero romantic awareness. It’s funny, but it ain’t love. Now Nami? That’s a whole different vibe.

Luffy Clearly Lost That Fight, Iñaki Godoy Faces Off Against Taz Skyler on One Piece Live Action Set

All of us are aware of the sucky nature of Netflix’s live-action anime adaptations. With every series, Netflix manages to destroy our beloved characters and trash our favorite stories, so when everyone saw how wonderfully One Piece had been adapted, we praised it and asked for a second season.

With the second season’s filming having recently ended, we’ve got access to some hilarious behind-the-scenes clips from the live-action One Piece set, and one of these clips shows Luffy losing to Sanji.

"I Did My Best to Deliver That": 'One Piece' Star Explains How the Live-Action Series Nailed Zoro's Debut
Image
The second season of One Piece has wrapped filming with old and new fans of the franchise alike waiting to see where Monkey D. Luffy's (Iñaki Godoy) journey takes him next. Based on the manga by Eiichiro Oda, the live-action adaptation of One Piece arrived in 2023 and established itself as a massive success for Netflix. Key to the show's success on the streamer was the authenticity of its characters, and none delivered on his role quite like Japanese actor, Mackenyu, who plays Roronoa Zoro. From the iconic green hair to his unique multi-sword fighting style, Mackenyu embodied Zoro perfectly from the very beginning. So, how did that come about?

Zoro is arguably one of the most beloved anime and manga characters there is. So there was understandably some skepticism surrounding the authenticity of his adaptation. However, Netflix's One Piece properly squashed those fears, and Mackenyu has revealed the secret behind this successful portrayal.

'One Piece' Season 2 Teases a First Glimpse of the Zoans in New Behind-the-Scenes Video
Image
There is a lot of anticipation among fans of the popular manga, One Piece, regarding the second season of Netflix's live-action adaption of the story. Filming on Season 2 has already wrapped, so fans can look forward to an announcement regarding a release date sometime soon...we hope. Monkey D. Luffy's (Iñaki Godoy) and his desire to become the King of the Pirates is key to the One Piece storyline, and so is his Devil Fruit power, Gomu Gomu no Mi. Season 2 will have to grapple, not only with the storyline, but the outlandish scenes that accompany the manga. Central to that will be the arrival of the Zoans, the newest type of Devil Fruit users, who are known for their ability to transform into other creatures.

Season 2 has added a number of new faces to the roster, with Ty Keogh being one of them. Keogh is set to play...
