Ákos Badits is currently putting the finishing touches to the post-production of Garbage Theory (Űrpiknik), his feature debut, a dramedy laced with science-fiction elements. Lying at the heart of the film, and portrayed through the tale of an utterly extraordinary duo and their various misadventures, are friendship, the perpetual importance of human relationships, the unpredictable and mundane nature of existence, and the power of love, which transcends periods of history, genders and, indeed, entire universes. The cast includes Zalán Takács, Lili Walters, Veronika Varga, Benjámin Lengyel, Nóra Rainer-Micsinyei and Attila Árpa.The story, written by Ákos Badits and Ágota Benedek, revolves around 23-year-old Panna, a lonely university student who is incapable of forming human relationships, until Boy (23), a self-loathing alien, arrives after Panna sent signals out.
