Kay Nguyen (Nguyen Le Phuong Khanh) is a writer, producer and director for feature films in Vietnam. She was born in Saigon, finished her film studies in the States, and has worked in various positions in film production in the States, England, Japan and Vietnam. In 2013, she founded a writing group called "A Type Machine", which supplies script services in Saigon and New York.
Her works represent Vietnam at the Oscars three times in a row ("The Tailor", "Furie", "Dream Eyes"). She also won many domestic and international prizes. "Mat Biec" (Dreamy Eyes), which she wrote and produced in 2019, has become the second highest all-time box office record in Vietnam since release.
