Giovanni Damien Niubo is an American singer-songwriter, actor and dancer born and raised in Miami. He first rose to prominence in the late 2010s due to his lead role on the hit teen drama SKAM Austin (2018)
Giovanni comes from a Latin background, being both Cuban and Puerto Rican. His mother Gisela is Cuban, while his father was born in New York to Puerto Rican parents.
Humble beginnings took place when Giovanni started his artistic endeavors on screen, appearing on the Kidz Bop Kids: Born This Way (2011) at just 7 years old. On April 18, 2018 several clips and articles were released online regarding a new Facebook Watch teen drama SKAM Austin (2018), which Niubo was a part of for two seasons. Through this he wrote several songs for the show, earning him his first professional songwriting credit. 3 years later, Niubo recorded his debut single Giovanni Niubo: Bets on U (2021) which he released in November of 2021. The single served as a teaser for music to come the following years - Giovanni Niubo: DayDream (2022) and Giovanni Niubo: WHAT'S THE POINT? (2023)
