Los Angeles and London-based management and production company 42 has acquired Ob Management, an integrated director management and production firm for commercials and music videos.

Ob founder Otis Bell will stay on to helm the company alongside COO Frida Nilsson. The company will be rebranded as “Ob/42” and continue to operate as a distinct entity within the 42 group. 42 bosses Marc Allen, Josh Varney and Ben Pugh will sit on the board of Ob/42 going forward.

The acquisition includes Probation — which Bell co-founded in 2011 with Matt Davey — a photo agency representing top photographers working in advertising, music and entertainment, which sits alongside Ob Management. She’s just been accepted into college, but what should be a happy family celebration is interrupted as an Ice Swat team kicks in the door.

And here we run into a major issue with American Carnage’s plotting. The raid is one of many called for under an executive order signed by Governor Haper Finn. Immigration policy and enforcement is a federal matter, an executive order by a state governor would have no force. And even if it did, Ice is a federal agency, it doesn’t take orders from state governments.

The vampire genre is a lot like a vampire: It has lived for hundreds of years, and every time you think it’s about to die off it gets an infusion of new blood. Since the logistics of neck-biting and blood-sucking are no longer incendiary, a vampire movie, novel, or TV series that strikes a chord will tend to be infused with a tasty metaphor, one that reaches beyond the “erotic” obvious. “The Chi” star Jacob Latimore is set to star in a remake of the 1990 Kid ‘n Play hip-hop comedy “House Party” for New Line Cinema and SpringHill Entertainment, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.

Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori, a two-time Writers Guild Award winner for “Atlanta,” wrote the script for the new version, which will follow young people at a house party that goes terribly, horribly wrong.

Music video director Calmatic is making his feature directorial debut on “House Party.”

According to Deadline, which first reported the news, Latimore replaces “Bumblebee” star Jorge Lendeborg Jr., who left the project to focus on his mental well-being.

Latimore will now co-star opposite Tosin Cole.

NBA star LeBron James will produce with Maverick Carter in conjunction with their SpringHill Entertainment banner.

Writer-director Reginald Hudlin made his feature debut on the original 1990 comedy, which he adapted from a short film of the same name.

The “Doom Patrol” and “Games People Play” star is the latest to join the cast of New Line’s “House Party” reboot, produced by the SpringHill Company for HBO Max.

Obilom has signed on to play the female lead in the project, joining Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Tosin Cole and DC Young Fly for the reimagining of the hit comedy, which starred Christopher “Kid” Reid and Christopher “Play” Martin of hip hop group Kid ‘n Play.

The 1990 movie, written and directed by Reginald Hudlin, was a major financial success for New Line, earning $26.4 million at the box office and cult status with fans. The movie also features Tisha Martin-Campbell, Martin Lawrence, A.J. Johnson, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell and Full Force.

Exclusive: DC Young Fly, best known as a cast member of MTV’s long-running improv series, Wild ‘n Out, has been added to the cast of New Line’s reimagining of the 1990 cult comedy House Party, produced by LeBron James and Maverick Carter of The SpringHill Company.

He’s joining previously announced stars Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and Tosin Cole in the film, which is being directed by Calmatic, marking his feature directorial debut. Emmy-nominated Atlanta writers Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori penned the script.

Reginald Hudlin, who wrote and directed the original film starring hip hop duo Kid ‘n Play, will serve as executive producer alongside Warrington Hudlin as well as Spencer Beighley and Jamal Henderson for SpringHill. Richard Brener, Josh Mack, and Victoria Palmeri will oversee production for the studio.

Though film fans may not acknowledge it, several other entertainment venues have had a tough time getting by in the past year. Just a few miles from the shuttered multiplex there were the empty stadiums and sports arenas. Now many more theatres are starting to open their doors once more (hey Big Apple and Tinsel Town), and the prospect of watching live baseball in a few weeks has many fans ecstatic. This new release is set in the before days, with a high schooler “baller” dreaming of the “big show”. But his parents are also counting on his “dream”. That and the pressure of representing his unique cultural community weigh heavily on the shoulders of the teen “hoop sensation” nicknamed Boogie.

Even though it’s moving at a slower pace than many would like, the vaccine rollout is starting to gain some traction and in turn, moviegoers are going to start setting foot in theaters — safely of course.
