In elementary school, Spiro had a great teacher named Françoise, who brought her Grades 1, 2, and 3 classes together as an ensemble, and performed one play each year, in front of friends and family. In Grade 1, Spiro played William Bucket, the father of Charlie Bucket, in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. The next year, Spiro played Michael, the baby brother of Wendy and John, in Peter Pan. In Grade 3, Spiro was cast as the lead! Performing as The Scarecrow, in The Wizard of Oz! In Grade 4, and at a new school, Spiro played Noah, and an Ox, in Noah's Arc, at an annual Christmas Holiday Show before winter break. Throughout high-school, Spiro took drama class, with a teacher, Greg Simpson, who structured the class so that students would split off into groups and write their own original stage play, which they would all act in at the end of each semester. Greg also had students write a complete "characterisation" for their character, where the student would explore different questions regarding where the characters came from, what they experienced, the individual events that shaped their life, their relationships, aspirations, etc. Spiro loved this. Some fond productions that Spiro helped to write and perform, with his friends, were JFK, Spanish Train, the Consciousness play, the Manchester United play, Colonel Mustard in an original rendition of Clue, and Augustines Confessions.
