Ilona Chevakova is a versatile and dynamic actress based in Helsinki, Finland. Ilona has been acting since childhood and has built a broad and diverse career in both Finnish and international productions. She studied acting and musical theatre in London, where she lived for four years, and she speaks fluent English. In addition to Finnish, Ilona speaks Russian as her second native language.
She is best known internationally for her role as Ingrith in The Last Kingdom Season 5 on Netflix, where she appeared as a series regular, as well as in the Netflix feature film Seven Kings Must Die. In Finland, she gained national recognition as Sabrina Mustavaara in the daily drama Salatut Elämät, the most-watched Finnish TV series. This role marked her breakthrough in Finnish television.
Ilona has also appeared in a wide range of Nordic crime dramas, including Maria Kallio, Karppi (Deadwind), Pahan Veri, Ivalo (Arctic Circle), and Sorjonen (Bordertown), as well as in several indie films. She played a major antagonist-a drug lord-in a Vares feature film, and she also appeared in the Vares crime series, demonstrating her strong presence in darker, high-stakes roles.
Her film work includes roles in Renny Harlin's feature Luokkakokous 3 (Class Reunion 3) and Pamela Tola's Teräsleidit (Ladies of Steel). She has also featured regularly in Biisonimafia's comedy sketches, gaining valuable experience in comedic performance.
On stage, Ilona has performed in leading Finnish theater's including The Tampere Theatre, Helsinki City Theatre, The Alexander Theatre, Svenska Teatern, and The Vaasa City Theatre. Her theatre repertoire ranges from Shakespearean drama like Othello to musical hits such as Mamma Mia! and The Rocky Horror Show, where she starred as Janet Weiss.
In addition to her acting career, Ilona is a trained radio host and works as a radio presenter. She is also active as a voice actor, having voiced numerous TV and radio commercials, cartoons, and films. She was the leading voice for Volkswagen in Finland for many years. With a strong background in singing and dancing, Ilona brings her musical theatre training to many of her performances.
