Inkyu Baek was born on February 24, 1987 in Pohang, South Korea. Having received MA Clinical Psychology at Korea University, Inkyu Baek started out an independent queer film studio "99film" based in Seoul, Korea. He eventually moved onto filming with his first short film Queer Film 20 (2013), later followed by the hit Queer Movie Butterfly (2015).
