Sammi “Sweetheart" Giancola is making her debut on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, but it's not the best idea for her to film with her ex, Ronnie Ortiz Magro. When the spinoff was first announced in 2018, all of the original roommates were set to be in the spinoff series except for Sammi. At the time, she had opted out of the opportunity to reunite with her former roommates in an effort to avoid her toxic ex-boyfriend and costar Ronnie. While he did in fact return for the new show, Ronnie hasn't filmed with the cast in nearly two years.

In 2021, Ronnie was arrested for a domestic violence incident involving his then-girlfriend Saffire Matos. Following the arrest, Ronnie made the decision to step away from filming for the show in an effort to focus on his own mental health. The 1986 rock ‘n roll horror film Trick or Treat is one of my all-time favorites, but since the VHS era it has only gotten a barebones DVD release (which is available for a high price Here) and a Blu-ray in Germany. So this ranks high as some of the coolest news I’ve seen lately: Synapse Films is putting together a Blu-ray and 4K Uhd release (and possibly a new DVD release) of Trick or Treat that they’re hoping to send out into the world by the end of 2023!

Full details on the release aren’t available at this time, as they’re too early in the process, but Synapse Films is collaborating with Michael Felsher of Red Shirt Pictures to make sure it’s the best it can be. The livestream announcement can be viewed on Facebook.

The cult horror movie Trick or Treat is coming back to life here in 2023 with a brand new 4K Ultra HD Special Edition, officially announced by Synapse Films this week.

The upcoming release will be packed with exclusive bonus content from Red Shirt Pictures, and the 4K Uhd & Blu-ray Special Edition will feature a brand new 4K restoration.

Directed by Charles Martin Smith and starring Marc Price, Tony Fields, and Gene Simmons of Kiss fame, Trick or Treat tells the story of a high school outcast named Eddie Weinbauer, who is obsessed with heavy metal music and his favorite rockstar, Sammi Curr. When Sammi dies in a hotel fire, Eddie discovers a mysterious unreleased record that Sammi made before his death. As Eddie plays the record backwards, he unwittingly unleashes the vengeful spirit of Sammi, who returns from the dead to wreak havoc on the town and its inhabitants.

Everyone is a “Prisoner” in a new Dr Drama series created by Kim Fupz Aakeson, just shown at Canneseries. Not just the inmates crammed inside an old Danish prison, but the people who guard them as well.

“Twenty years ago, I wrote a Dogme film [‘In Your Hands’] that also took place in prison. I became interested in these guards, because who takes on that job? Who walks into such a hostile environment every day, unarmed?!,” he wonders.

The characters – played by “The Killing” star Sofie Gråbøl, David Dencik, Charlotte Fich and Youssef Wayne Hvidtfeldt as Sammi, an ambitious rookie – have to watch their backs. But frustrated criminals are not their biggest problem: it’s the system itself, which leaves them powerless.

“It’s an extremely hard profession, poorly paid. They are constantly understaffed,” observes Gråbøl. Taking on Miriam, who still believes in people even though she can’t trust her own son.

The cast has been spending a lot of time together lately as they film for the second half of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation season 6. The group of original roommates reunited in 2018, six years after the original series came to an end, to film for the spinoff series. Although it was questionable at the time how successful the spinoff show would be after being off-air for so many years, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation has been a hit among fans for five years.

While the spinoff show is quite different than Jersey Shore, it can be argued that Jersey Shore: Family Vacation is better than the original. Before, the cast would be filmed nearly 24/7 as they partied around the clock. Although this was always fun to watch, a lot has changed since the original show ended. When the cast returned for the spinoff series, many were either married or in serious relationships...

Ronnie Ortiz Magro was seen filming alongside his former Jersey Shore: Family Vacation roommates for the first time in two years. Ronnie was one of the original members of the Jersey Shore cast. The star was best known for his toxic on-again-off-again relationship with Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola. Unlike Sammi, Ronnie returned for the spinoff series in 2018.

In 2021, three years after the spinoff series first aired, Ronnie stepped away from filming after he was yet again arrested for a domestic violence incident. Now, two years later, Ronnie is finally making his return to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.

Late Friday, April 8, 2023, the Instagram account @mtv_reality_teaa shared photos of Ronnie filming in Florida. A majority of the rest of the cast is also currently spending Easter weekend in Florida filming for the show. The cast is allegedly staying at the Margaritaville Resort in Orlando.
